I need an answer....

They why wouldn't he have brought someone else in by now?

Not that I'm on the side of the AJ haters as they are called because I'm not. However, your above argument is not a very good one seeing as bringing in a good QB to compete is not as easy as going down to the Wal-Mart and picking one up.

Let's say Saban has given up on AJ just for argument sake, who is available that you think he would bring in?

Not to mention that Saban may have just given up on the hope that AJ is a starter but not that he's a serviceable backup. At that point there would be no reason to get rid of him would there?

What would the benefit be of bringing in a QB that is equally average? At least AJ knows the playbook correct?

There is no way that anyone either pro AJ, anti AJ or fans "on the fence" about AJ can read anything into this situation. We will know what Saban thinks when he makes up his mind for game 1.

Because there's no one else available that's better either.

Tim Couch is available...Quincy Carter....Ray Lucas....Steve DeBerg...

Well now that you gave me that list.. ****.. I can't believe Saban didn't go after one of those guys. One is like 50, one is a cokehead, one has no(and i mean NO) arm and the other one is Ray Lucas.

Give me a break, you are reaching.

...Ray Lucas....

Know what Ray Lucas looks like? Nah, I won't do that anymore....

But seriously, if that guy ever wore a phins uniform again, I can honestly see half this board being in a uproar

If Feeley is so horrible and his faults are so obvious, then why hasn't Saban noticed them or done anything about it? Why is he even in the compettition for a starting job? There are dozens of people on this MB who will tell Saban that Feeley is a waste of time so, why is Saban so stupidly insisting that AJ compete for the starting position. With his obvious faults and all, why doesn't Saban just go ahead and make him a third string emergency QB and let Sage and Gus battle it out for the starting position? Saban must be an idiot to think AJ can start in this league.

Right?

I have two answers, pick the one you like.

1. Nick Saban is under mind control by Wanny or Spielman (the reader can select the one that they want to blame everything on).

2. Saban wants to be guaranteed the first pick in next years draft. That way the Fins will have spent a second rount pick last year to move up to the first pick in the draft next year (ouch, my head hurts). Come to think out it, that would be cheap.

BTW, I don't believe either, but the thread is losing steam.

Thanks inFins. I disappeared for awhile because i got tired of reading the same old negative crap. There is nothing wrong with different opinions, but the bashing sucked!

Any of those guys anything special???

Exactly the point I just brought up to someone else.
If Saban believes at this point that AJ is nothing but an avg. QB and that ultimately will be a decent backup then why would he bring in one of the above QB's? All of the ones you listed have minimal value to an organization as a starter and only offer some security as a backup.

AJ not getting cut dosen't offer any proof that Saban thinks he has starting talent.

Saban has to evaluate his players, maybe? It aint that hard to figure it out.
Damn, he must be slow....I mean, you've already evaluated Feeley so what the heck is taking Saban so long?? Surely he knows much more than you do about AJ, you'd think he would have seen everything that you have by now. he's certainly seen enough to make a decision already and stop wasting time alternating reps with the first team. Maybe you should call him, I think he needs your help.

i just want to know which team has won a superbowl within the last few years that had a quarterback controversy????? The answer is ZERO, Zilch, Nada, no one. we will never get anywhere as a team as long as there is controversy at the most important position on the team!!!! Get a starter here now to he double toothpicks to mr brown and his millions spend it on a qb. we can live with ricky at rb.

I'm not reaching for nothing Fin, I was just listing names....I don't think any of those guys are better than Sage "Call me for your next party" Rosenfels let alone AJ Feeley or Gus Frerotte....although DeBerg has me intrigued...

You think there is no QB on any roster that could be acquired? If Saban felt that none of the players on the roster had a chance to play well, he would have no choice but to do something.

Look at the 31 other depth charts for the QBs listed behind the starter.

You missed the point of the thread. The premise was that AJ totally sucks and should not be in the league.

Again, you missed the original premise.

I agree totally. I'm one of the people that likes some of the things that AJ has done.
