So thats the end of it? No more poking the bear? D**n, I was tired until this thread happened, now no more bear poking just makes me want to encourage you to start poking a sleeping bear.

*pssst, if you need help finding one, I can point you in a direction*

you are right with this and I don't think Saban is going to start AJ over Gus just so he can "develop". If AJ isn't able to play better than Gus right now then he sits.

As for Infins.....
People that say Feeley sucks and is "unfixable" are just fools.
You can't argue with them because even if you show them they are wrong they won't admit it or are to dense to realize it anyway.

My take on Feeley is this...

He has good tools to work with.
Has a good arm and if given time can make GREAT throws.

On the other hand he is beginning to remind me of Damon Huard when under a rush.
He seems to freeze and collapse, not showing the pocket presence needed to make it yet. He also locks onto receivers quite a bit. That did'nt worry me last year because I thought for sure a coach would have fixed that problem. It worries me after that first game because it dosen't seem that he fixed those problems in his game at all. We'll see next week.

nice post, infins. and i like this reply, trek. i am not quite at the damon huard point yet, but i know what you mean. wasn't johnson instructing huard to take more sacks? i remember something crazy like that in the back of my head.

if feeley does start, how long until the anti-feeley crowd here starts insinuating that he and saban are lovers? a week? two? a month? if he does start, there needs to be a pool!

Still here.

I dont think the haters, or myself, care as much as you do in this entire debate.

I have to admit you are more persistant than 99 percent of the people on this board about getting your point across.

Youre gonna keep beating this dead horse until it wakes back up and kicks you in the arse.

I know what Ive seen in Feeley. And frankly, Im sick of talking about him.

Translation:

I give up because I can't think of anything to use against l-o-g-i-c.

That's easy. Feeley is being considered for the starting position because of the lack of other options. Nobody thinks Gus is the savior of the Dolphins franchise - just the lesser of two "evils". Saban will have another QB in here next year to start. But for now, Gus, in my opinion, is the better option of the two we have. It has nothing to do with "hating". I don't HATE anyone. I just think Gus is the better QB of the two.

So, are you willing to concede a losing season right now? If not, shouldn't the best quarterback be starting -- no matter who that is and how much better he looks?

its not about conceding a losing season... again like i said if the guys are close by the end, no matter which you start its gonna make a huge difference over the other... so if feeley looks just slightly better than frerotte, its not like playing frerotte means losing season and playing feeley means playoffs...

im saying if they are close, and frerotte has a slight lead, yes id play feeley over him because if they are close anyway its not going to make that much of a difference for this year, its not like one will make a losing season, one will make a winning season, im saying if they are close starting either isn't going to cause that much of a swing in the succes of the season... yet feeley has an upside and potential to be better so it might click in him and he could start playin ggreat, yet we know frerotte has hit his ceiling and will not improve or make any sudden leaps and bounds into greatness...

you know what...i'm just tired of people making absolute statements when they don't have all the information.

If Saban is letting this guy compete for the starting spot then, that right there says he may have the talent to do it.....Saban is certainly no idiot and he isn't going to hitch his wagon to somebody elses leftovers just for the sake being politically correct. If Feeley didn't have talent then Saban would already have him buried on the depth chart.

You have a list? Wow Id like to see that.
Got 26 names....

I've been called a lot of names and I've had to defend myself against attacks from all these people who have assured me in a variety of ways that Feeley sucks and I'm an idiot....

I'm either going to eat every one of those names, or I'm going to parade them around the site and let everyone know exactly how wrong they were when this thing gets resolved....

...or run him off the team. if saban is anything, he isn't a follower. that argument won't fly.

as for socall, many assume that rosenfels and berlin are options. why doesn't saban?

i know we're all impatient because we went through an agonizing year as fans and we went through the long, long wannstedt era where we kept waiting for fiedler to do it... this waiting period here will not be as long, the rope will be shorter, but we have to let it play out. and we have to realize that there must be something in the guy to make saban waste his time.

If Feeley is so horrible and his faults are so obvious, then why hasn't Saban noticed them or done anything about it? Why is he even in the compettition for a starting job? There are dozens of people on this MB who will tell Saban that Feeley is a waste of time so, why is Saban so stupidly insisting that AJ compete for the starting position. With his obvious faults and all, why doesn't Saban just go ahead and make him a third string emergency QB and let Sage and Gus battle it out for the starting position? Saban must be an idiot to think AJ can start in this league.

Right?

I think there is too many assumptions being made by many, the whole point of this 5 game exercize is to evaluate who if any of these QB's can get the job done, obviously Feeley is very much in the mix but I don't think anybody has won the job yet, nor has anybody taken a great lead.

This isn't about Gus...this is about those people who insist that Feeley is fataly flawed....you being one of them...I want to know why Saban is so stupid that he can't see that?

AJ was the incumbent starter before this season started. Had AJ already been 3rd string (were he should be), when Saban got here- things would be a little different.
Do you REALLY think that Saban hasn't watched every game Feeley palyed last year in an attempt to form his own opinion prior to camp? Or is Saban simply keeping the depth chart in place because of Wanny/Speilman's EXCELLENT judge of QB talent?
