I want Josh Gordon

If Jeff Ireland is particularly disposed toward listening to his Baylor connections about Gordon then the Dolphins may indeed submit a pick for him. Coaches at Baylor love him. It was the school administration that insisted on dismissing him from the university, not the football program. The coaches went to bat hard for him with the administration but were unsuccessful.

i think it depends on how the staff feels about the receivers they already have. The fact that Ireland is an alumni of Baylor might be significant. He may have been keeping an eye on him all along. If they can get him for a fourth I would do it. For a third ? Only with inside info on his conditioning and personal problems.

I like what I have been hearing about him size and talent wise. But a 2nd round pick? In my opinion that is too much for a player that has been out of football for a year and comes with character concerns. Even a 3rd round pick has me hesitant. Definitely would take a gamble with a 4th round pick on him, but it doesn't sound like he will last that long in the draft.

Can they use the 3rd they acquired from the Bears for Marshall? If so and Ireland really thinks he can help, might as well use that extra #3 on a replacement WR
No, it would be our 3rd round pick. Which actually gives Miami a better chance at him if they were to submit a 3rd round claim for him.

A second-round pick for this kid?! Not worth it in my opinion.

I might be convinced to go as high as a 3rd. His Pro Day should be important - to verify that he's putting in the right work, not that he's physically gifted (you can see that by watching him play). I think it's important to keep in mind what you're giving up. With our 3rd and 4th RD picks this year, we landed Vernon, Egnew, and Miller. Those are some gifted football players without the concerns that Gordon brings. D. Moore was a 5th RD pick in 2011. Gordon's size/speed combo is impressive, and I really like the way he moves. I'm pretty conflicted about the whole thing.

When was the last time a supplemental draftee actually did anything in the NFL? Every year, fans will get excited about these guys, and every year, virtually none do anything. If these guys were really good, why didn't they declare for the regular draft?

*cough* Steve Young *cough*

Ahmad Brooks third round pick for the 49'ers

He's absolutely worth a third, and I'd be shocked if he makes it to where we pick in the third.

I think you're absolutely correct, but the supplemental draft (and the picks) are not really my forte.

If you want a solid comparison, look at Stephen Hill.... except Gordon was more productive, and is actually a tad bit bigger.

*cough* Steve Young *cough*
Yes and no. Steve Young was selected in a Supplemental Draft, but it was not the normal supplemental draft. In 1984 there was no player selected in the normal supplemental draft. However, there was a second supplemental draft that year for USFL and CFL Players. They picked players from those leagues for their rights in case they decided to leave the USFL or CFL. Young was the #1 pick in a draft where 84 total players were chosen.

i say go ahead and try to use one of our third rounders on the kid. guy was productive, big and fast. something we need bad

Why would we consider submitting a potential 3rd on a potentionally great WR, when we already have a lockjam of 12 WRs fighting for 6 spots?? Becasuse, out of those 12, 2 or 3 are NFL quality starters only, period...the lockjam could be 186 WRs long for all I care, its whoever´s getting open that matters, and I´m absolutely FED UP with waiting for guys like Pruitt, Wallace, and Moore to suddenly develop into something resembling an NFL WR...but its not happening year in and year out...
