First, I AM a Dolphins' fan. Not as "supposed" one, as you say it. Second, my point still stands here. You mention the economic hardship of the local area down there. Bottom line is empty stands, and people (according to you) can't afford it. So, (as a business owner) do you continue to try to sell a product in an area that doesn't sell that well, or do you consider moving somewhere that you believe the business would be more of a success? Be honest here. What would you do? Remember that when a radio station buys 5000ish ticket those tickets that don't have people in seats represent people that won't be spending money on parking, food, beer, clothing, or whatever else they offer. Each empty seat also represents one less fan to make the stadium louder when the other team is on offense., or to drowned out the sound of the northern transplants as they root for their team.
Yes, it is frustrating when the team loses. Yes, I understand why you wouldn't want to buy right this minute. But this has been a problem even when Miami plays well. This is nothing new. A lot of people have taken notice. Even players and ex-Dolphins make statements about the fan support down there. It's pitiful.
So, feel free to get a hobby, go sailing, take a kayak trip in the Everglades, go to the beach, read a story to your kids, or work for a charity. Do all of that, if you like. But don't get mad if you turn on the television one day and hear that Ross decided to pack up and move the team.
