Idea for what we can do with Dion Jordan.

JJ Watt did more in his rookie season than Dion will in 2 seasons! Kind of hard to say that Dion is the better athlete or athletic specimen when he can't prove he is! Watt has been a freak of nature and Dion strives to be that even if it means doing illegal substances to get to Watts level of play!

How is what I said so difficult to understand? Better ATHLETE does not necessarily mean someone is a better PLAYER.

Watt is a freak of a player but it's because he plays with such an incredible ability to pace himself and lull his opposition. He knows when to bull rush, when to speed rush, when to hang back and try to clog a passing lane. Combine that with his heart and desire and it's easy to see why he's the best.

But the #'s don't lie. Dion is a better ATHLETE than Watt is. He's quicker, faster and more agile than Watt. That's not up for dispute so I don't see the point in even arguing it as the facts back it up.

I guess people didn't see this or have forgotten it. Sad how many of you have given up on him so quickly.

Great, he looks fantastic in shorts and going against dummies...how the **** does that show he is going to be successful in the NFL? Mother ****er has no fire, no passion...tries to get by on his athleticism (like he was kind of able to in college) because that is all he has...

And you can tell that from his being injured, being way behind in the scheme and being a backup to a guy with double digit sacks that has led to 0 starts? Can you tell us the winning lotto numbers for the next drawing?

Again....he had all preseason to show this and was getting outplayed by a UDFA rookie who was even farther behind Jordan in the scheme and has not had an NFL offseason....against the same competition? What about last season when the dude was too soft to put Luck in the dirt and let his ass go. You can talk about potential all you want, but he doesn't have the mentality for the position...

Again... how do we know that he wasn't hindered by coming off of PED's or that he was giving 100% effort? Not to mention we weren't running any type of D scheme in the pre-season.

BTW, in pre-season, Jordan had 5 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. Cameron Wake had 3 tackles, 2 sacks and no fumbles. But you're not jumping to any conclusions about his pre-season are you?

What about the Luck sack? Luck is built like a LB and a ROOKIE didn't wrap him up properly. You think that's the only sack that Luck has ever avoided due to his strength? What about his tipped pass against the Ravens that led to the game tying INT? Or the strip sack he had against Brees? Both were incredibly athletic moves where he was in the backfield in no time.

It's fine that you've given up on him but I'm not. We'll just have to see who's right in a few years.

Pre-season was all he had and showed very little...

So last year it was the injuries and preseason, this year is drugs..."I thought they were performance enhancing drugs

Guess what? When you STOP taking PED's, your performance is drastically reduced. He was suspended on July 3rd. We hadn't even played a pre-season game yet.

Go watch 'The Program' and you'll see a perfect depiction of what happens to a guy who all of a sudden bulks up in one season, tests positive and has to stop taking them, and see how it affects his performance.

Bwahahahahaha so your saying that the only way he can play is if he is on the stuff....

For all of the freaky athleticism, why don't we see more on the field against O-linemen?
Ireland was generally quite conservative in his drafting and he very rarely gave up high Draft picks to move up. So he must have been ridiculously impressed by Jordan's performance metrics. The big question is why the extreme athleticism hasn't transferred. Year 1 he was recovering from surgery and he was a bit light to take on O-linemen who were 60+ lbs heavier.
Interesting that the best pass rushing DE on our team (Cam Wake) went undrafted and didn't even make it in Giants Training Camp, but the guy drafted #3 in the first round is struggling. Maybe he carries the burden of expectations. At any rate, it shows that drafting pass rushing DE's can be very high risk. This is like the defensive equivalent of Oakland drafting Jamarcus Russell (only we moved up to get him).

That's not at all what I said. I'm not saying that's not the case as we certainly don't know yet. Difference is that I haven't written him off yet and you have.

You could also say that Fede and Shelby are better than Jordan as well, at least at this point. Thankfully we've found these guys to help make up for not finding them high in the draft. We also got Vernon later than you'd expect to get a double-digit DE as well.

If he were truly the better athlete then he wouldn't have to do illegal substances ! I don't agree with that assessment or numbers because the numbers don't equal up to the athlete Watt is! And that is fact he is the best at his position right now! While Dion is playing himself off the team!
