If Grier is Replaced, Who Replaces Him?

Please stop this madness Grier is a solid GM we need better coaching. Look what happened to the Lions last night bad coaching in big games is a constant with this team.
We win the AFC East if we had just some basic coaching in the last 3 minutes of the Tennesee game.
What I like about Grier is he get credit for all the successful hits in the draft (not many) but for the whiffs it's oh that wasn't on him he drafted who the coach wanted (even though McDaniel wanted Achane in round 2 but was denied for Cam Smith instead for reasons) or Grier didn't have full control then (for Iggy) but gets credit for Hunt and Jackson.

Disagree….While our coaching is suspect…the GM failed in many respects?
He obviously isn't solid enough. A solid GM should have at least one playoff win under his watch in 25 seasons. It's like a restaurant that has a GM for 20 years and is considered "solid" simply because he's kept the restaurant from shutting down with mid numbers instead of a GM that has the restaurant thriving consistently.

Thanks for the Texans/Titans thing; I transpose those names sometimes.

But that’s a really weird criterion to use as a blanket statement. So everything Miami has done since 2001 is a failure? Ricky Williams? The Wildcat? Cam Wake? Five All-Pro seasons out of Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor? Jarvis Landry? The Miami Miracle? 70-20?

All failures because they didn’t turn into playoff wins?
Of course. What else? Who cares about Jarvis Landry? Or the Miami Miracle. It’s just a flash in the pan and we remember this stuff because we have nothing else to feel good about this team. Go to the Super Bowl and all these things here will not matter one bit.

Anyone would be an improvement. The guy down the street who comes in second in his fantasy league would be an improvement over Grier. He has botched more draft picks over the last decade, which is why we are in the shape. We are at the present time. In addition to his poor draft picks, and then tries to cover them by trading away, picks for large salaries, and while it’s great to have players, like Tyreek, Chubb, Ramsey he is destroying our cap and giving away picks instead of just drafting good players in the first place. Look at what he has done with our second round picks alone and he should’ve been fired a long time ago. We have a center in Liam who was like a turnstile that he traded up to get. He took him Smith and the second who can’t even see the field, and Tindall was also a high pick and barely plays special teams. Not to mention because of him and Ross we lost a close down pick which would’ve been huge for tampering, and the year we have three first rounders should’ve been the one that put us way over the top.

My point is that there are reasons to celebrate things other than Super Bowl championships. We can find middle ground between "Super Bowl, yay!" and "everything this franchise has done since 2001 is a worthless failure."

There are forum members here that post who they'd like in the draft, and in hindsight, most of them did a better job than Grier. Just like how Gase and now McDaniel calls plays that make no sense at times, that's how Grier operates on draft day.

This is literally the excuse that was used to defend Jeff Ireland.
Grier has drafted a lot better than Ireland though

Yes…like the longest streak of not winning a playoff game in the NFL…Yah!….Woo Hoo!

It’s hard to argue with. Anyone could see Tyreek was good, but we gave up the farm. Waddle was a low or no risk but again we gave up to get him. Tindall can’t see the field, Cam Smith, Ramsey, we knew he would be good. Gave up a lot for chubb, but he’s working out nicely. whiffed or had no interest in Roquan Smith for less money. Complete neglect of the offensive line and the ist goes on and on. Not impressed.

Grier didn't have anything to do with the tampering, that was Ross and Beal.

If you don't like the job he's done, fine, but stick to the truth.

Understand. They are no reason though to hold on to a disaster at GM. The goal is to win a Super Bowl, or let’s start with a playoff win maybe, and not a last second lateral to win a meaningless regular season game. That was six years ago and the same crappy GM is still here and we still have not won a meaningful game.
