If Ireland is Fired, who should replace him

And that's great, but doing charity work doesn't necessarily take away from a person being a jerk outside of the spotlight. I have met at least 25 people down here who have interacted with Dan and literally not one of them had anything positive to say about him (we are talking over the course of 20 years).

I've personally never met the guy, but when you hear the same thing from that many people you have to sort of assume a good amount of it is true. Or they could be haters, who knows. Hell of a QB and great work with autistic kids, I just think the title NCFINFAN was giving him may have been a little bit out of place with the things I have heard about him.

Mythbusters has made a pretty good living disproving statements like that.

This isn't a whether or not he should be fired thread and I don't think he does, but I do want to see what potential Gm's are out there that you would like see take over if Ireland does get relieved of duty at the end of the season. Be reasonable...with your selections...GM's that are already established with certain franchises.

Scott Pioli - Has been instrumental in building some of the most talented team in the NFL....The New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs. Is notable for not only getting guy who fit the teams personality, but also establishing quality depth on the team. His biggest knock is his inability to chose a head coach

Eric Decosta – Assistant GM – Baltimore Ravens – Has spent most of his pro career working under Ozzie Newsome and has played a significant role in drafting many of their pro-bowl players. He is seen as the successor to Newsome when he does retire and is currently one of the highest paid executives in the NFL so I doubt he would leave, but with Ross's fat pockets and willing to spend to win, he may be able to persuade DeCosta to leave Baltimore.

How about anyone on this board? What's the worst that can happen? 4 losing seasons in a row?......lol

Ozzy rules!!

I have listened to Scott Pioli in the media. He is a dumbazz if you ask me.

maybe he was just awestruck being on TV. but no thanks.

Gaine seems next in line but one has to know his resume. I am sure there are guys out there noone on the outside knows much about. up and comers.

Sorry, but Marino doesn't strike me as a cerebral guy like Elway. He also doesn't seem to have the temperament to manage people. He is way too firy and temperamental to manage an organization. It works as a leader on the football field, but not in the office.

Just google the clip of him almost breaking a glass table on HBO because he flubbed a line. Now imagine how he would react during the draft, or during a losing streak. It wouldn't be a healthy work environment.

I would call that a passionate perfectionist.

Or a hothead.

How did being a "passionate perfectionist" work out for Nick Saban in the NFL?

Not enough time to tell since he left for ALABAMA. How's it working out there?

How about our own assistant GM Brian Gaine. I'd like to see what he can do.

I've had enough of the crew here. I'd like to do a major revamp in the scouting department as well, because they are equally to blame for not identifying enough talent.
