If Miami Trades Cameron Wake.....

for a group of fans that are constantly bitching about the lack of leadership, and battle to find leadership on our team and in our locker room, I'm surprised how many of you are open to trading one of the few elite players on our team that has aqua and orange running through his veins....

This.

If they do it better be a Hershel Walker like trade.

The OP may be a bit of an alarmist, but man I like loyalty to players. It's been rare for us to have an elite player worthy of this kind of outrage. I don't want to trade him either. Even putting loyalty aside, I value Wake's impact in the league as a top 10 pick and I doubt we're getting that back.

A grip?

We lost to Thad Lewis and the Buffalo Bills not once, but twice.

One of the losses came after Philbin and co, had not one, but two weeks to prepare. The other came late in the season with our playoff hopes on the line. A week later, we lose to the Jets and Geno Smith.

You're know more of a fan than I am, I'm just realistic. Philbin isn't any better of a head coach than Cameron was. Want proof? we traded away a top 10 WR in Brandon Marshall. Not to mention the other players we let walk because they didn't fall in line with Philbin.

Now there's rumors of Wake, Wallace and Dion Jordan being made available? And that's not worse than 1-16 with Cleo Lemon and John Beck? At least then we expected failure. Trading away any of the players mentioned above would just be plain ludacris.

The only reason Dion isn't a elite player is because this coaching staff has no clue. Wallace wasn't utilized properly all season long. Why can't we use him like Philly uses Desean? Or the way GB uses Cobb. This coaching staff allowed us to play the entire 2013 season with our QB using "Go" and "Go-Go" as the snap count.

I have a grip and that grip says I'm sick and ****ing tired of mediocrity. I've put up with it since the first grade, I'm over it. Won't ever, ever give up on Miami. But it's time to get some competent people in Miami. End of story.

1) It's no not know
2) I never said I was a better fan, just stating that it is idiotic to trade away 1 of our only elite players regardless of age. It won't make us better in the short term.
3) Dion Jordan isn't elite because he is a 3-4 linebacker playing in a 4-3 system. He was hurt during training camp and never made the full transition, this is well documented.
4) It is impossible to finish 1-16
5) Wake is one of the best 4-3 DE's in the league and can't be replaced through a free agent or rookie. Maybe Vernon was so good last year because he didn't face the double teams like Wake has.

You may be as sick of losing as all of us our, but trading away all of our best players for rookies and free agents will not make us better this year. I say get a grip because with all the problems you listed we were still in the hunt. I believe that an upgraded defensive line, starting Jenkins instead of Wheeler at LB, and a better #2 running back will get us that extra win we need to be a playoff team. There is no need to put us in an even worse spot by downgrading at our best position because he is 32 years old.

Man... You just don't think do you? We had a completely different GM for last years draft incase you didn't know. SMH

And the new GM can replace 3 of our 4 starters on the defensive line and be just as productive....when does that ever happen. He is a GM not a damn magician. I love how some people throw out uneducated insults without facts that back up their claims...

We also have to replace 4 offensive linemen, that would be 7 new starters on the line between offense and defense out of a total 9 positions. That isn't to smart if you ask me.

I will no longer be a fan to such a stupid organization like the Miami Dolphins. I will also never watch another game from the NFL or the Dolphins ever again. Plus I would delete my account from this website. Miami Dolphins front office don't you ever trade or release the best player on the team or my favorite player. Cameron Wake better retire a Dolphin or I'm done.

Amen brother!!!!

GaSped and myself have been pumping up Wakes tires long before he got here - in fact i raised his name long before Ireland signed him out of the CFL - as much as I personally like Wake, this is a team sport and we have to build "both" lines - Not liklely gonna garner a 1st, THIS IS THE YEAR TO TRADE, maybe for or a second this year and one next year -> he is older (and had a knee issue this season) and needs a contract (longterm) what many of you fail to realize is he has a lot of wear on those tires he played a lot of football in the CFL -> can he rush the passer "yes" will he have a big year if we trade him likely -> but we have some big gaps to fill

IMHO - We have young DEs who need playing time and Wake will want a BIG paycheck at that age -> no way for me -> Jordan should be OLB we should draft another DE and DT and sign Solai and move Odrick around with Shelby and Vernon

If we get a first for Jordan then take it. Yes we seen flashes from him but at the same time I have a bad feeling just because who drafted him and the fact that he would be better standing up. As for Wake I would pull a trigger if we were offered a second. Wake is 32 years old and you can definitely tell he is declining. I know that we would be left with just Vernon who had a great second season. At the same time we would have two first and two seconds and even more money from trading Wake.

I honestly we would like to see what Hickey can do early on with some money and a ton of picks. We can find out if he is a bust early or not. If he is a bust then regardless if Wake and Jordan are on the team or not, the dolphins will not win a Super Bowl with Hickey. If Hickey is a gonna be a good GM then he should be able to bring talent with all those picks and money.

He is gonna be declining on a BIG contract and let me tell you he has many miels on those tires as he played in thh CFL and it wasn't on GRASS - I would take a 2nd and change for him too but hopefully a second this year and next or even a second this year and third next year.

I know it wont be a popular statement, but if I could get a second and a mid or late round pick in this years draft I would trade Wake. He's 32 coming off batteling injury all last year, and is making $7.5m this year, and $9m each of the next two.

Bingo had a name O

Ha and get another Samson Satele, Koa Misi, Jamar Taylor? I rather keep Wake and not roll the dice on another 2nd round bust...

Jamar a BUST? maybe

Satele and Misi "BUSTs?" Put down whatever you are drinking, take a look in the mirror"

we're not a player or two away we're a draft or three away. if you can get a 2nd for wake its great for both parties involved. but because i speak of facts, miami stinks, im 14 and should go away....laughable stuff. sorry i dont see everything with rose colored glasses. 1 playoff appearance in 13 years, stick that in your peace pipe finjim and travis34 and puff away.
Wow. Do you have an ak 47 and Armour piercing bullets under your bed?

If that's the case, I hope they trade him.
