If released, I think Saban brings in Rohan Davey.

All of our QBs are similar in that they all are dropback passers who are most comfortable in the pocket. None of our QBs are a threat to run and all are pretty slow afoot. The only thing I like about the Davey idea is that he is a good athlete and would add some dimension to the position. But, I'm not really at all sure that he's better than what we have.

Sage can run, he's just never been given any designed running plays

He's a very good athlete (even better than Jay), but he has never been able to showcase it

another great thing about davey is that he has uncanny pocket prescence. almost similar to marino in the way he can feel pressure and move around. he is rarely getting sacked back there and when he is hit the defender's usually bounce off of him because he is so big

i don't know about akili smith, but i'm pretty sure that he didn't win offensive mvp and win a world bowl title. some of the europe league defenses get pretty good after a season of jelling. better than the cannon fodder that berlin and sage have been doing ok against. all this bad talk about his accuracy and he has 105 rating in a full season of europe ball. he's better than our backups so why not give him a chance to compete. he will surprise u. and the player that have played w/ him absolutely love him in the huddle. he's just one of those guys that inspire confidence

Considering he maybe cut by the Patriots, I can't see where you his potential. If he was even decent would the team of signed a dwarf to be there backup?

you have no idea that he may be cut by the patiots. just because cassell had a good game people are jumping to conclusions but i hope he is cut so we can pick him up and rohan can show the stuff that he has. if we pick him up he will be at least 2nd string on our team.

i would have loved to get ur take on kurt warner and jake delomme before they made it big

I know they won't keep 4 QBs on the roster (well actually I don't know, but still) Cassel really impressed people with his poise and Davey has just been downright awful.. It wouldn't surprise me if he is released. Flutie is such a fan favorite over here that I think he stays.

I have no interest in Davey. I just don't think he is a good QB. He was overerated in college and he is overrated (by some) now. On the other hand, if Josh Reed was cut I wouldn't mind giving him a look. He was awesome in college and I could see flourishing under Saban. This is despite the fact that as a team we are much weaker at QB than at wr. You don't strengthen a weak position by bringing in poor players.

davey was great at lsu. i don't know what games u watched. the one's i watched he was winning sugarbowl mvp. dominating the peach bowl. stomping all over tennesee in the championship game. zinging balls downfield and leading the team to comebacks all the time. then he goes out and wins the europe championship as a pro. i think all this talk is useless more because bb will never let him go. let's face it our qb's aren't that good. davey is an experienced leader. all this talk about accuracy goes out the window when he starts. he just needs to be in game situations to be accurate. i bet most of u against him have never watched more than 1 game of him playing. rohan is :)

i'm getting tired of arguing so this will be my last thing to say about rohan in this thread. there is a huge difference between rohan and jason. when the big game was played, rohan was at his best. when the most was on the line he was at his best. rohan has a much better arm much more suited for the nfl. jason got lucky to play w/ oklahoma and not have another great qb behind him.

whenever jason white was in a big game he had deer in headlights syndrome.

When was the test teach? I must have missed the class when you talked about college QBs and the probablility of them being a success vs. them not being successful.. Can you go over it again please? As a review?

Anyway from what I gather listening to talk shows and watching preseason games, I'd actually be surprised if he's kept by Belichick and Pioli.

They've been waiting for this guy to come around FOREVER and outside of NFL Europe, it hasn't happened yet. I gotta believe the Patriots are growing tired of it. He has yet to play one good quarter of preseason football.

I think it would be an interesting signing, and hopefully Saban can get more out of him than his Patriot counterparts did.
