If the Dolphins wanted to move on from Tua Tagovailoa, there are not many options

I would just run it back another year with Tua on his 5th year option.

Try to maneuver the salary cap to open up another year of this window.

If we get the same results or worse next year then what would be the point to signing Tua to a long term deal? We would have obviously reached our ceiling.

I would then just start over in 2025 and tear it down.

Lmfao we're now at the point of posting links to trash threads in other trash threads. You should hit up Dale-Paul Jordan and see if you can write for phinphanatic as well :chuckle:

So you honestly think that Joe Flacco, in 2024 would produce equivalent to Tua, but at a lower cost?

Have you seen Flacco play for the Broncos and Jets?

I think he was in just the right situation at the right time and caught a last gust of air. I predict he won't come close to duplicating it in 2024.
It was always destined to end with a crash landing. I posted that on several sites. Regardless, it's remarkable how fresh Flacco looked all season. His arm was considerably more lively than recent years and also his legs. I think it's a lesson that older quarterbacks need more time off.

U can't be scare too take chance on another qb. Tua is good but can Tua beat mohomes, burrow,Allen and Jackson. Probably not..when it count. I have seen enough. Mcd is always going fail. When he is going up against them.

If we move on from Tua you've got to accept the reality that it will likely be 2 or 3 seasons of mediocrity and that most of the current roster will be long gone before we're relevant again.

Cue all the outliers. Who cares? I wish one of these sports talk programs conducted it the proper way and played a laugh track whenever an outlier is cited.

Its not a black or white situation with Tua. We can make him a reasonable offer 4 years at 40m with 2 years guaranteed. If he rejects it, we let him play his 5th year. At the same time, we bring in a vet to back him up and maybe even push him (Mills or Minshew) or draft a strong armed QB in later rounds. I think Tua will continue to progress. I think we can win with him. But Im still going to hedge my bets as much as possible and protect the teams options in case I'm wrong.

Move on from a Pro Bowl QB who led the league in major QB categories and rankings? Hell no!!!

Tua is hardly the cause of the late season meltdown. He takes and accepts responsibility for the meltdown, as he should, but he is not the proximate cause of the late season meltdown. The failure is an organizational failure. Coaches. Players. O Play calling. D strategy, philosophy, and game plan. ST failures.

Who in the hell started this nonsense discussion? No offense to the OP. This is not a new topic. It rehashes what the national media has been bull shetting about.

See Eagles. Same thing.

At this point, what's another 2 or 3 years?
