if the dolphins win out and the bengals lose 1, we are in...

Let me first say I hope we win out. I would be the happiest fan alive. However realistically we should not expect it. We haven't played anywhere the kind of football since week 3 to make us think we can win 5 straight games. I will be happy with 8-8 although that won't get us in the playoffs.

The ravens have been in our way for the last 10 years. Always. baltimore.

And I know about Greg Camarillo but that was NOT a playoff scenario LOL.

That about sums it up. I was told by a friend after last weeks win "you don't even seem that excited" and the truth is I wasn't, because I know this team. We should be tied for, if not leading, the division right now. Extremely close loses to Buffalo, Tampa, and Baltimore put us in the same position we find ourselves in year after year…needing to win out, and require help from other teams.

I want to be excited, but so far this season we've gone 3-0, then 0-4, then traded back to back win/lose for 5 weeks. This inconsistency makes it incredibly hard to have the faith that we can run the table at this crucial time, especially with a team desperate to keep their playoff hopes alive followed by 3 tough division games to close the season. It's not impossible, but some homers here need to be realistic so as to not be massively disappointed if the miracle you're hoping for doesn't occur.

I started the season heavily invested in the Dolphins. Then I was awakened by the losses in succession. Then "bullygate". I will not get overly excited or optimistic. I will cheer our team on, but reality says this is in vain. We will once again be watching the playoffs from the outside in. I expect to lose, not to win. This is how I remain sane and nothing gets broken around here.
I know this sounds crazy, but does anyone get a sense of relief when we finally are eliminated? As if the weight has been removed?

On another note...I am high on the Blue Devils rocking the college football universe against FSU this weekend.
Cold weather...slight mist (Ice?) + Jamison legal hangover? = THE SHOCKER?

I am with you. I hope Duke can somehow upset these tomahawk chopping pansies.

Its not the ravens, its the patriots, bills and jets we should be taking control from. If we take care of our own division, win our own damn division, we don't ever have to worry about Baltimore.

Relieved when we get eliminated??? No flipping way. I look forward to each year and when that day comes I know how long I have to wait till the next season starts. If I ever start feeling that way, I know it's time to start looking for different things to do with my time. I am excited and pumped up for this game on Sunday....playoffs start this week for me, and I expect a victory.

Duke has no chance, if fact, I would bet the Fins win the SB before Duke beats FSU this year.....they will be lucky to even cover the spread. I hate saying that cause I am a Cane fan, but FSU is THAT good this year.

I do agree with your last statement though....start taken care of business within our division and we wouldn't have to worry about anything else.

Losing has hurt for many years. My point was when they do eventually get eliminated, I am relieved in a sense. Of course I want them to win every game. Just like you do. I just have to have a way to deal with this team of mine.
I have done many a foolish thing in the name of the Miami Dolphins. I admitted to this board before to some of those silly childish reactions to Dolphin losses.
If I invest to much in this team, I end up with heartache. I am tried of losing.
Today, I hope for wins and hope for playoffs. But once we are no longer in the discussion is the only time I can actually relax.
I sure hope this post makes sense.
