if you think we'll suck, think again

feely was the number 2 qb they only had him listed as 3rd becuase detmer was a better holder.. get your info right before you come on this board and talk smack about feely :shakeno:

feely will do just fine as our starter, and we just need some players to step up... well be fine i see at worst a 7-9 and most likely an 8-8 season and hopefully the chips will start falling the phins way this season..

What does that have to do with anything??? Are you saying the #3 can't be the holder?

And if Feeley was the true #2, then how come Detmer came in the NFC Championship when McNabb got injured instead of Feeley? :hmmm:

I forget the rule about the holder thing, but it was an issue.

Its because if the #3 QB comes in, the #1 can not come back. If McNabb was ever out for a long period of time Feeley would of come in....I forget everything exactly, so u this is just basically...someone else could b of more help on explaining.

It still doesnt answer why Koy came in for the NFC Championship and not oh what a Feeley.

that's why he couldn't even take Detmer's job, right? Hell even after he went 3-1 to finish that season he still couldnt beat out Koy for the #2 spot the next year.

How many starts in the NFL did K Warner have before he stepped into that starters position for T Green ???

:D

Hum think maybe Detmer was / is a favorite of A Reid ala B Walsh - J Montana / S Young ?

You can spin this all YOU want to but until AJ gets some playing time under his belt, the "3rd string questions" are moot !

The whole feely thing was talked about in excess once we acuired aj.. in regards to your question about the nfc game, since feely was listed as the 3rd qb he couldnt come in cause when mcnabb was ready to come back in if feely had gone in than mcnabb couldnt come back in.. There is some rule that pertains to all this and someother people will be able to explain better..

Anyd reid stated that if mcnab was out for an extended period of time AJ feely would become the starter...

I don't think this team is finished, not by a longshot. They've lost two key players on offense this off-season, but still have the opportunity to fill one of those holes before the season starts. Most likely the hole now left by WR D. Boston.

Rick and Dave will find someone worthy IMO. They'll have to deal DE A. Ogunleye to get a worthy replacement, but we need help at WR more than we do at DE at this point IMO. If we can find a solid WR out there, we should be alright going into the season...

I can understand Rick and Dave wanting to stick with our current RB's to replace Ricky, they're all pretty solid IMO. But to say our situation at WR is going to be alright with who we have isn't going to fly. We're in desperate need of better depth now that Boston is done, and I have a hard time seeing WR D. Thompson making an impact as the new #2.

The WR position is our biggest need right now no doubt. If we can trade for a solid WR, I think our offense will surprise some fans this year, if not, we're looking at a long season. Dave and Rick's future's are riding on it....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

If Feely was the better player they would have taught him how to hold the football during fieldgoals.

well be fine i see at worst a 7-9 and most likely an 8-8 season
Nice job just ignoring reality. They won't be able to win many games at all with that offense. The best I can see them doing is 7-9, I can see them doing as poorly as 4-12/5-11

The jets and the bills went 6-10 last year with their team intact and now they come here mouthing off.
It ain't over till the fat lady sings, we have the best defence in the division and look what the pats did with no names.
You can also say we have better coaching.

You honestly know crap about football. So instead of embarrasing yourself further and being laughed at for your lack of football knowledge i would just make like a tree and bolt. Your posts are the most pathetic knowledge of football i ever seen.

uh, why would they need to teach him to hold the ball, how about they knew detmer was more reliable with it, doesnt mean hes a better player:shakeno:
you obviously havent known much about the dolphins for a while, weve been making the playoffs with a bad offense for a couple of years pal. our defense is at its peak in talent and ability.the jets are completely useless without pennington, who do you have without testevarde behind him that you think can lead them to a win. at least if our starter goes down feeley or fiedler will come in and both of them can at least lead us to a W.

It's not true that you can just teach anyone to hold. Kickers develop a comfort level with their holders, usually over years. Coaches are reluctant to upset that chemistry. Further, this has already been discussed. Eagles fans posted a a quote from A. Ried where he said that Feeley was the primary backup should Mcnabb go down for any length of time. This was quoted before he was ever traded to Miami. You can try to spin it any way you want, but unless you know more than Ried about the Eagles, you're wrong.

By the way, your prediction is not reality, it's just your opinion. It is no more valid than any other posters. And based on the amount of football knowledge you demonstrated in the rest of this post, your opinion is probably less valid than most.

I'm a Dolphins fan just like the majority of you, and I think this is hilarious. First, Wannstedt stays. The worst coach in football stays around for another year. I don't care if the record was 15-1 or 10-6, they did not make the playoffs. With as talented as a team that was on the field for Miami last year, a squirrel could have coached them to a playoff berth. Just like politics, being conservative is stupid. Big mistake.
Second, letting Marino come back as a "GM" position. He was brought in solely because of who he was in this organization, and had no experience. He may have been the best QB in NFL history, but he should not have been in the front office right now working with the coach that pushed him out of football. Big mistake.
Third, signing David "Please come and operate on my knee" Boston. A big, steroidal crybaby. Big mistake.
Fourth, trading for AJ Feeley. Didn't this team already have 2 mediocre QB's before releasing another "name" for the Dolphins-Brian Griese. Feeley: An unproven QB who has had what, 4 career starts? I doubt he will be worth the top 40 pick the Eagles will recieve for him. Big mistake.
Fifth, Ricky Williams. I won't even get started on the "I'd rather smoke weed in Jamiaca than do something for millions of dollars." Psycho-enough said.

One post I read said "we had all these crappy guys in 2000 on offense and still made the playoffs."

It's called getting older. Get used to it because it is going to happen to you too. In that 2000 season, these players were at these ages in their lives:

Zach Thomas: 27
Jason Taylor: 26
Sam Madison: 26
Pat Surtain: 24
Tim Bowens: 27

Now, 4 years later, it looks like this (I'll do the math seeing as some of you might be a little slow)

Zach Thomas: 31
Jason Taylor: 30
Sam Madison: 30
Pat Surtain: 28
Tim Bowens: 31

They're not getting any younger folks. With as mediocre as an offense this team is going to provide, you really think by week 10 they are going to be ready to go out there for the 8th time in the first half after another 3 and out? Give me a break. The defense will suffer from exhaustion by the end of the season, so don't expect the "December swoon" to stop this year.

You can be a fan if you want, but please, be realistic. Fantasy-land was 2 stops earlier on the train, before you had the intelligence to figure out not be a fan of this terrible, terrible, organization.
