If you wanna sit down STAY AT HOME

NEW RULES

1. When walking to your seat (up or down the isle) Squat when a play is on cause you distract peoples views ( This is my #1 pet peeve)

2. Its OK to sit down, when a play breaks it is OK to stand.. usually every one does so feel free to stand without any concern

3. If you are in goal-line and sitting in the corners or endzone its ok to stand as your view is easily obstructed. If your on the sideline sit and cheer unless your view is blocked then stand.

4. If someone asks you to sit down explain to them the rules listed above. If they are not happy with what you are doing, tell them to request a handicap seat. We all paid the same amount for tickets relativly speaking and we are all there for the enjoyment of the game(generalization).

I had an 84 year old man behind me who complained. I told him look, I'm gonna stand if a play breaks or we're in goal line. I'll gladly sit during regular game play as well as point after. I also sat for replays so he could see. The point is i didn't let him ruin my experience, and hopefully I didn't ruin his. Just be courtious and like i said tell them if they can't stand to go to information or service desk and tell them they need a handicap seat... those seats are amazing and are not obstructed by people standing.

What about third down? Or when a play may be big.. The times I have heard it the most is when there is a long pass down field and you stand up because a catch might be made.. Or when you see JT get past the tackle and start runing at the QB.. No play has broken yet, and maybe one won't, but there is a chance that one will, and my legs just seem to stand up, usually part of the way until the play happens..

I was at the game yesterday in the lower level and during the goal line stand, on first down, I stood up and started yelling until my head started to turn purple. This fat guy wearing an orange shirt with half his beer on it yelled at me to sit down because he couldn't see.
I was in total disbelief. This is when we can help our team out and make a difference and you want me to sit down? This has been a problem for me at the games in the past few years and it is embarrassing. I looked at him and told him if he wants to sit down, watch the game at home. We need to stop this garbage and support our team to the fullest. Like Nick Saban said, we want to make this place so horrible for the opponents to come and play that they will hate to play the Dolphins. We are a proud franchise and we need to act like it.
I am proud to say that all the other dolphans around me looked at the guy like he was nuts (a couple fans said some things that I cannot repeat hear) and stood up with me in a collective roar for our team!! GO PHINS!!! :allhail: ALL HAIL THE NICKTATOR!!!!

I was at home and was standing for both of them!!! I agree man, I agree!!!!!!

Well we'll see when the Jets play in Miami because one thing that's always just pissed me off is when there are ALWAYS more screaming visiting fans( especially Jets fans ) than Miami fans!! That **** has got to stop, I don't ever want to hear that stupid chant in our stands again. I hate to say it but honestly miami fans in the past have not been to strong in the seats..i'd have to say one of the worst in the league. I hope it changes. I don't think people really understand how much of a difference they can make.

I feel you on the Jets fans in our stadium. But what are you talking about us being one of the worst fans in the league?? Thats just stupid. Our stadium gets loud, brotha. ANd how many dam stadiums have you been to that you can honestly say that we're the worst?? There's alot of misplaced New York Idiots that can't seem to find their city (or just cant stand it) and all live here but still wanna root for the Jets..That's just how it is. We still GREATLY outnumber them and we get louder than they do..I just hate hearing the J-E-T-S in our house.

ANd I'm only 5'6". I encourage everybody to stand the F#@$ up when we're on Defense and scream at the top of their lungs. If your a "wussy-sit down, I cant see type" of person..I got no love for you. Go home.

I was actually told to sit down during the tribute to 9-11 before the game yesterday, I was like **** this **** I am not going to sit through another game with dead *** fans, I sat there for the first quarter and not one time did anyone in the section cheer, yell or stand.

That is why most of the time I just go stand in one of the entry ways, I can scream jump yell and stand all that I want. I do have to say again however yesterday the stadium was rocking. I would love for it to get like that for every game going forward, I realize sometimes it's hard in that damn heat but let's make Dolphins stadium a feared place to play.

You know as much as the Bills fans are ragged on I have to admit, their fans on on their feet screaming and yelling the whole game even during snowstorms. (Although I doubt they will be doing much standing on Oct 9th, right Justa  ) Maybe they should have a know standing section. sort of like the no alcohol section.

It's not about that... it's about RESPECT and COURTESY for the fans sitting behind you. There is NO REASON for fans to stand up for the ENTIRE game. Like I said, earlier, there are times to stand and times to stay seated.

I've only been to one dolphins game, and I sat in the very back row against the wall....nobody complained about me standing the whole time.

Oh my God, I can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading here. Some of you people actually go to a game and sit?!?!?!?! And you call yourselves fans? What true fan in their right mind goes to a game to sit quietly and watch? I can't remember ever leaving a game with my voice intact and my hands not swollen from clapping.
at least he showed up. If the heat affects players, it also affects fat people. Don't be hatin. Fat people take more room and makes the stadium fuller than it really is.

I agree with other posters -- if all you're gonna do is sit there, then stay home and watch the game on TV. Don't ever ask loyal fans to sit down. If you can't/won't participate, then don't criticize those who do!!!!! :yell:
If they stayed home other finfans would whine about fans not showing up.

MAke up your mind.

This has been a pet peeve of mine for the past decade. We have the lamest fans in the league in terms of how loud and enthusiastic we are in the stadium.

yeah, this is a stretch... i've heard the Pro rumble like no other... not quite the Orange Bowl, but it still rocks...

I think my point is pretty clear. Yeah, it's great that fans show up and support the team. I've watched too many games where the stadium isn't nearly at capacity. My point is that football is a sport that inspires and demands fan participation. You've heard of the '12th man' I presume? Well that's the fan in the stadium. Supporting their team, mostly by yelling and shouting. That's the type of sport that football is. If all you plan to do is sit there like a lump and watch the game yet criticize the 12th man, then it probably would be better if you stayed home. Or more carefully chose your seat location (i.e., handicapped seating or other special sections that might be available) so you're not bothered by those fans who put their whole body and spirit into the game. Football isn't tennis so don't expect football fans to act like they're at centre court at Wimbledon.

I can't even stay seated when I'm at home. I pace around the media room like something I'm about to do or say is going to impact the game. I honestly think it works. When we need a stop on 4th and inches, I find it useful to get in the 3 point stance and yell "bring it MF!!". In the past 4 years, I have a 73% success rate on 4th and short defense.

Also, when Chambers dropped that TD the other day, you should have seen the ***-chewing I gave him. I thought he was going to cry. The point is.. I could never do this from a seated position and still be effective.

I agree, but sound doesn't seem to resinate at Dolphin Stadium like other places, Isn't it because of the way it was built...I mean like some of the other stadiums (ie. Buffalo) is more of a bowl shape and resounds louder....????

Totally agree!
I have been asked to sit down when I'm blocking shorter people (I'm 6'3) and have apologized and sat down. Its out of courtesy to the person who also purchased their ticket. They deserve a chance to see the action too.

BTW, people do cheer from their chairs and can be just as loud.
