I'm beginning to believe that Watson will be traded!

Question is, is this team far enough along to mortgage the future, and take on Watson and his salary. If you think we are going to be able to add talent, and also keep the defense together, adding Watson, i think you're wrong. Our front office went the way of tearing down the roster, to aquire picks, and relieve the slary cap to build and consistent winner. I am noth sure they are willing to reverse course, and say we are just a qb away from the superbowl. Watson is a very good qb, the issue is not his play, it's at what cost.

The situation is really deep and we can expect hear about all the dysfunctions on what management has done. It was already reports that he asked the Texans to interview Robert Saleh and they didn’t interview him. This has glowing reviews around the league and the didn’t even make an attempt.
No he wanted woman beater Bieniemy and they interviewed him after the fact.

If you think Watson had to know whether you’re kidding yourself. He’s the face of the franchise and can cause problems That can fester considering that they seem to be trying to rebuild a bit actually a lot. If he forces the issue he’ll get treated I personally don’t think the dolphins will bite because I think they are very happy with Tua. I also read somewhere it would be post draft and I don’t see how that is possible but if that’s the case that certainly leaves us out.

I’m torn, love watching and watch what he does on the field I think he’s a future star if he isn’t that already but I also have a good vibes about number one so I can’t wait to see how this plays out.

And thats the reson why they'll get value in a trade when push comes to shove...imo. Whats likely to happen is he's going to give them a list of teams he's willing to go and start from there. 3 teams is more than enough to drive up the price to, at the very least, fair value. Unless he's being unreasonable and says I want to go to one team and one team only. Thats where you might get the discount.

Honestly, if thats the route he decides to take, it would raise concerns for anyone trying to aquire him... Is this something he's going to do everytime he disagrees with calls being made upstairs? Ultimately, I think the only way he comes cheap enough for the Fins to consider it, is if he's being unreasonable enough for the Fins to not like the outlook.

Looking down the list of teams who could be in play, I think he'd veto most of them. Miami is the only "good" team with a Top 10 pick. I could see him accepting trades to SF, maybe Denver, and who else? The Jets? I kind of doubt it. He should know it's in his best interest to limit the pool to 1-3 teams, because he should want his future team to keep as many resources as possible. If he plays it right, he'll screw Houston and help his new team.

I agree 95%...

The missing 5% is if they want the kitchen sink for a player who will be moved in one way or another...

I don't want to be Bill O'Brian of we do make a deal.

Yep, if he costs too much, Miami doesn't have enough pieces on offense to put him in position to thrive. It all depends on how he plays it.

Watson has to wave the no trade clause, now with Salah being hired it definitely is more of a possibility than prior to his hiring. However, if Houston does decide to trade Watson he's definitely going to have a factor into where he goes and to what value they get for him. So Houston may have to take less from Miami than what they are offered from another team, because Watson will have to approve of the team he's being traded to. Just another way at looking at it, but you are definitely not wrong with considering the Jets as possible players for Watson if Houston does look to move them, especially now that they're hired Salah.
Watson could make a lot more money playing in New York than he can make playing in Miami simply because he would have a lot more opportunities in the advertising field. New York is a much larger market than the Miami area and being the QB of one of the New York teams opens up a lot of these opportunities. Especially if Watson is able to go to the zjets and turn them into a winner.

I think the Jets have had a lot more time to evaluate Darnold than the Dolphins have had to evaluate Tua and that is why I think the Jets would be more active in trying to trade for Watson if they actually think the Texans were really serious about trading Watson.

All that being stated, I think the Texans and Watson will work out their differences and they will end up hiring a HC which Watson will be happy with. I expect Watson to be the Texans QB next year and for many years to come.

Baker Mayfield says hi.

Miserable because we have won one playoff game in the last 20+ years. If you don't think Watson helps us on this team in 2020 then I don't know what to tell you othe than you are in denial.
I am not stating that Watson isn’t an excellent QB. I am just happy with Tua and the direction the Dolphins are headed and I prefer to build around Tua and keep all the draft picks. Obviously Watson is a better QB than Tua at this stage of their careers but I think Tua has a lot of room to grow and with an offense build around him and a huge upgrade in the skill positions on offense, the Dolphins will be just fine, IMO.

How many playoff games did Watson play in this year?

Rebuilding this team we need more than Watson. Acquired a ton of picks for the future don't blow them on Watson.

I wasn’t aware Baker Mayfield was requesting a trade. Obviously some players can make good money in the advertising market than just being in New York. But if you think Watson wouldn’t make more money in marketing himself in New York than he would in Miami, I just don’t agree.

Dolphins would be stupid not to look into this. The realistic chance that Tua will be better than Watson is slim to none. We have the coach, now get the QB. You always hear if you have the coach and QB then you have a shot.
I believe Tua has a chance to be a top 10 quarterback in this league. But Watson is already there, maybe top 5.

Hard to come up with four quarterbacks who are better than Watson. And he's 25 years old.

The cost would be steep. Maybe three #1's plus Tua.

Like you said, have to at least inquire.

Do we need more than Watson? We won 10 games with Fitz and and a rookie QB. Watson is head over heels better than both of them. The chance Tua will ever be on the same level as Watson are slim to none. If we can build around Tua then we can build around Watson difference is we know Watson is legit.

Look at the teams that are still in the playoffs, and tell me who their QBs are.

Based on repeatable factors, Miami was more like an 8-8 team, and I do think Miami needs more than just Watson to actually contend, but it wouldn't need as much.

No...Don't need another Cancer.
Flores fumigated Our Locker Room, and If ANY of the Players aren't Sold, or aren't On Board with Flores (Especially Tua's Situation)....Theres the Door!!! Price Tag for Watson will be Ridiculous Anyways, just like X is going to be. And I don't want to See All of the Draft Capital Flores/Grier has built Us
Evaporate.....No Way, No How, Do I want Players that have a say in the Miami Brass' Decision Making. Whether it be Players or Front Office Personnel. Just Do Your Job...PLAY FOOTBALL!!!

1. Look at how he played despite all the issues with the team. Watson did everything he could to keep the Fins from picking #3 in the last game. That’s not a cancer. James Harden’s last game with the Rockets is a text book example of a cancer.

2, I’m guessing Flores would command Watson’s respect.

3. Players shouldn’t make decisions but what team wouldn’t want their best player’s thoughts? It’s applicable in all levels of business.. At work, when I have to fix a messy situation I definitely seek out the staff’s opinions.
