- It's a solid point. Gus being an a**? What gives with that? He should be happy to have a job & a shot at starting. Seems like a guy who smaked his head into the wall once to many times.

My dad painted fiedler's house. He was a very nice guy and said we were a bit harsh on him. We were but you cant really blame us, we bleed aqua and orange and we were spoiled with Dan Marino for 17 years. We couldnt accept mediocreness at QB. But we were a pretty harsh on him, myself definately included. I can get his sig scanned(if my dad lets me since he only got himself a sig from jay) Ill show you guys. Its a cover of SI from his oakland game signed and framed.

- I WAS THERE for that return game. Marino had a lot in the bank at that time to make up for a bad preseason.

You remeber 4th and 5 with just over 3 minutes left in the game on the Patriots 35 yard line down by 3? The field was WAY too muddy to attempt a field goal, and Don Shula told Marino to throw it over the middle to Keith Jackson to keep the drive alive. Well, Dan saw that Irving Fryar was one-on-one with his man and they were playing bump-and-run coverage. Marino stepped up to the line, gave a subtle signal to Fryar, called an audible, dropped into shotgun and threw a 35 yard touchdown to Fryar who was streaking down the sideline, hitting in full stride at about the 3 yard line. I don't care what anyone says...that takes BALLS!

I guess what I am trying to say is that preseason performances do not exacty translate to how a player will execute when it is for real. ;)

- It wasn't Fiedler's fault. It was Wanny. Fiedler would have been a good back up.

- Endzone , top deck , Perfect throw , Fryer catching it slightly to my left in the corner.

I agree. If we didn't have Gus, I think Fiedler would have been a great backup.

Can you honestly say that you have ever witnessed, live or televised, a better game than that one? That was the game that will be etched in my memory until the day I die. It should be the game that every QB is measured by. IMO, it was Dan Marino's defining moment.

welcome to finheaven Drama

Thanks. But, I have been a member for a long time now and I am trying to get my previous account reinstated (CashInFist). I posted a thread in the "Complaints, Suggestions, and Questions forum", and I am still waiting for a response. :)
