Incognito to Have Sit Down with Glazer, Fox Sports.

Hes not a particularly good human being, which is the reason why I dont have his support badge even though I think Martin is a bitch.

But that's sort of the thing, though. If he's not likeable, it's probably better to keep himself as a empty vessel for people's macho NFL image than to show up haggard and full of **** on network TV. People seem ready to make excuses for him, so why give them a chance to peer into that round liar's face and doubt their crappy instincts?

But... like I said, perhaps I'm clouded by my read of the man. I'm legitimately curious how Team Incog feels about this promo.

Omg this is hilarious, Miami has done it again. First Lebron and his decision and Now Incognito. How embarrassing for this city. Good people have to actually live by an root for these peeps. Incognito is the slime of the slime. Everyone knows it, his teammates know it, even though they wont admit it because it makes them look like dirt. Now he goes on Tv with his good buddy i might add, an says hes shocked and awed by whats happened. Just another Florida disgrace. Somehow some way everyone will find away to say "Not Guilty"!!

AHH, looks like The puffy soft metrosexual's mama ambulance chaser has made a guest appearance here on FH. Thanks for raising your boy to be so in touch with his female side; too bad you didn't teach him that it's not perfectly okay to whine and throw hissy fits - cuz in a testosterone-charged environment, that kind of behavior only invites the unwanted type of attention as the Davie locker room really is much further away than the geographic 3thousand miles from the West Hollywood Bar scene.

Im not sure the people youre talking about would change their opinion based on the interview, no matter how bad. So really he cant lose much and if he really comes off well he can gain some support.

I don't think he looks like he's full of ****. I think he looks like Richie Incognito. A big, dumb dope, who doesn't understand that he's sticking his foot in his mouth.

I honestly believe 100% that Richie is being totally sincere and that he's probably hurt, confused, and feels betrayed by all of this. He's just too ****ing dumb to figure out that the reason he keeps finding himself in these situations is because he's able to transmit impulse from his brain to his mouth.

And yeah, I don't think Richie changes anyone's mind here, which is why this interview can only hurt him, the Dolphins, and any chance of resolving this stupid crap.

I think he looks fine, and this interview will go a long way to changing the public perception especially Joanne...I mean Jon Martin still hasn't said a word

okay, I'll play. Earlier in this thread, someone was actually incensed he'd have the nerve to do an interview that could only end in disaster. Disaster? What could be worse than the image both he and the blood-thirsty "shoot first and get the facts later" media have combined to create? To that end, being fairly articulate and soft-spoken, even if he shovels the ****, what does he have to lose? When his rep is so severely tarnished for whatever reasons, he might not rehabilitate it but then again it's more than possible... or maybe as a first foundation building block considering he's got a lot of work to do! Rapesburgh, raperKobe, KillerRay - are any of them suffering these days from a low "Q Rating" ?? Whatever he's done, those guys have done quantum times worse yet 2 are leading their teams and one now is hypocritically bloviating on his network's shaky soapbox.

As far as the inference that he's got some nerve showing his face? Why shouldn't he? Look at the systematic leaking of Martin's version (unconfirmed) up til now. Why did Martin run right to a reporter; why is this douche Cromwell getting involved making unsubstantiated claims that so far no one has confirmed as eye-witnesses? Why did they bring in his sister and then expect everyone else to keep her off limits? There wasn't enough damning material without bringing an innocent party into it? Doesn't Incog have the right to counter punch? Hell, doesn't he have the right to tell his side of the story (whether either his and/or Martin's approximate reality)? If he's got dirt on Martin, such that player informing yet another player that he wants to bukkake that guy's brother, if he was a leader on some assiduous pranks or whatever, in the interest of full disclosure and fairness, why shouldn't that be communicated and factored into the "he said/she said" as well?

Thanks a lot for riling me up Tusky right before I was gonna go saw some zzzzzzzzzs :)

edit: beyond that, putting it on the public record in front of a very large and interested audience is a good start for any defamation suits his lawyer might be planning against the networks, individual excoriators and maybe even Martin himself.

In fairness, 2 of the 3 guys you mentioned did nothing wrong except sleep with a woman who then tried to extort them. In Kobe's case theres adultery involved, but they really dont compare well to Incognito's documented history of being an asshat.

Yeah it definitely won't change anybody's opinion here but it may help his image with the people that have never heard him speak, people that aren't football fans and are just following this story, or even people that are football fans but aren't serious enough to follow the NFL on a daily basis or follow the cornfeds of other teams.

Maybe. But we've seen people in this same kind of situation come off like an even better choad than people were assuming going into it. That's why Oprah's couch is so powerful, right? She knows how to make you apologize in a way that makes you look better. Jay Glazer isn't that kind of guy. His stern but compassionate face doesn't mean **** to anyone. I'm not saying it's a Martin Bashir/Michael Jackson thing but it's not like this kind of "oh, God... why did I support this guy" reaction is unheard of.

I mean, think about it tactically, right? This interview isn't mean to provide evidence. It's meant to make you feel bad for Richie Incognito. To look in his face and say... this guy didn't do those things. Look how sad he looks. Looks how honest he sounds. I can't believe this guy did anything all that bad.

He has to be genuine for that to come off. And like I said, I'm not equipped to say whether this comes off as genuine because I've never thought the guy was anything less than full of **** anytime I've ever watched him.

I'm still puzzled by the fact that Jeff Darlington hasn't been a bigger conduit for Richie Incognito stories until now. By all accounts Incognito picked Darlington to write his story of redemption and Prozac in the summer. Richie's father spoke highly of him in one of his retardograms. I have to assume there's a juicy story there. I'm thinking Darlington cut him off for making him look like a fool... or maybe that's just wishful thinking.

How do you know that? What I read is that both were unwilling but after it happened they tried a grab for the gold just like the golf course Incog woman. If you have links to either woman recanting, thanks in advance for sharing them. Again like without proof, it's the Incog/Martin "he said/she said" all over again with none of their teammates willing to confirm Martin's version or that Richie was anything other than a good and helpful teammate who even intervened when The Soft Boy got into with Jordan. And Ray Lewis is a killer or complicit in a murder that probably would have ended with no convictions had he not been forced to plea bargain (which in itself confirmed his guilt). I'd rather be lectured on morality by Michelle Ryan than appropriate behavior by killer Ray.

At this point, for whatever it's worth, the first actual voice of the two that we're hearing is Incognito's not Martin's. And IMO RI has got his legal and PR teams lined up, is being coached and had Glazer either agree to a line of questioning in advance or furnish the team with those questions. No way he's going in unarmed.. and if this is true and he still puts his foot in his mouth then he deserves what he's wrought.

"Have a right" has nothing to do with it. He can shout it from a mountain if he wants to, or hire a blimp of himself with a smile on his face to fly over Dolphin stadium. I'm don't object to him telling his story if that's what he wants to do.

But this kind of interview is meant to accomplish something, and I just fail to see what that is. If you think people will watch it and their impression will be that he's soft spoken and articulate, it could well accomplish something for him. But if people watch it and he comes off as dishonest, it could also knock some people off the fence who might otherwise be inclined to sympathize with him.

I'm not trying to make a point here by way of asking a question. I realize that's a common rhetorical tactic -- one I've used many times myself -- but there's no better barometer for how this is going to play than Incognito supporters. If they're a bit cold on it then the public's reaction should be freezing.

Agreed!

However I believe he's got a good chance to change some minds given that his audience are football fans by and large coupled with the reality that among said fans, the antipathy for Martin being perceived as soft, a quitter, not sticking up for himself given his physical stature and the scorched earth policy he's leaving behind outweighs the perception of Richie and shift the opinion scales.

Jonathan Martin can't play in the NFL and I found it amusing how his Lawyer Cornwell, states he blocked for Andrew Luck and had no problem there.

Are you kidding me...? Just another typical lawyer response, let's face it, Jonathan Martin was a wasted draft pick, and from my point of view, the team/players, were just trying to motivate him.

I am not sure whomever made the decision or thought to draft Martin and assumed was an instant starter, but that's a different story and other topic.

I hope we release Jonathan Martin.

On a side note - I read something about Warren Sapp talking trash about Incognito using the "N" word on him.

Come on Warren Sapp, you talked more trash than anyone on the field and how you got voted into the NFL Hall of Fame is really beyond me (politics), I loved your passion and love for the game, but you were just average.

I dont remember the details of the Roethlisberger case. But in Kobes case, Im not sure any reasonable, objective person actually thinks he raped that woman. That was a clear money grab from the get go. You arent the kind of person who needs an exhaustive history lesson to remember that. Im sure you recall it.
