Maybe. But we've seen people in this same kind of situation come off like an even better choad than people were assuming going into it. That's why Oprah's couch is so powerful, right? She knows how to make you apologize in a way that makes you look better. Jay Glazer isn't that kind of guy. His stern but compassionate face doesn't mean **** to anyone. I'm not saying it's a Martin Bashir/Michael Jackson thing but it's not like this kind of "oh, God... why did I support this guy" reaction is unheard of.
I mean, think about it tactically, right? This interview isn't mean to provide evidence. It's meant to make you feel bad for Richie Incognito. To look in his face and say...
this guy didn't do those things. Look how sad he looks. Looks how honest he sounds. I can't believe this guy did anything all that bad.
He has to be genuine for that to come off. And like I said, I'm not equipped to say whether this comes off as genuine because I've never thought the guy was anything less than full of **** anytime I've ever watched him.
I'm still puzzled by the fact that Jeff Darlington hasn't been a bigger conduit for Richie Incognito stories until now. By all accounts Incognito picked Darlington to write his story of redemption and Prozac in the summer. Richie's father spoke highly of him in one of his retardograms. I have to assume there's a juicy story there. I'm thinking Darlington cut him off for making him look like a fool... or maybe that's just wishful thinking.
