Nobody likes an ******* and a bully, either. And nobody likes someone who is "weak". Martin needs to make a full accounting rather than hoping the issue goes away and he can sneak back into the door without anybody noticing. If he does that and people think he was too sensitive, then so be it. If he does that and people think, "wow, Richie Incognito is a rabid ******* who should not be employed, not just by the NFL but by anybody", then so be that, too.
You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. The only way NFL teams are going to feel comfortable putting him on a roster is if they don't think a) he's emotionally vulnerable, b) he's liable to air dirty laundry without a good reason. The only way out for him is to make Incognito look like a complete jerk (for which he better have proof). That's the only way he'll garner sympathy. The problem for Martin is that making Incognito look like a jerk is going to make the team look bad for not stopping the jerk. I'm sure he doesn't want that but at this point it's the only thing he can do.
