Interesting quote by Marshall after the game

I hope Brian Daboll this year affects the offense as much as Mike Nolan affected the defense last year. But where Nolan wasn't much of a suprise, there will be a lot of crow pie et with Daboll. Who'd of thunk it? Well, he made an NFL QB out of the weak armed McCoy. If he had WRs, he might have been able to coach the team to a better than 31st offense. One other comment on that ranking. If the defense was as sorry as I think it was, Cleveland's offense opportunities in a game would be greatly diminished. Sometimes an offenses yds/gm ranking is due to the quality of the team's defense. I would think a better judge of the proficiency of a team's offense is a team's yds/play and points per possession (but even then, field position would have a lot to do with those numbers). I'd be curious to find out how well Cleveland did with those stats.

On his thoughts on Henne:

Hmmm.

I agree with the sentiment, and I'm excited for the Dolphins, but once I see it during the reg-season and against a real live defense then I'll believe it 100%. I'm still concerned Dan Henning may have ruined Henne. I want to see Henne throw an INT and then how he responds to that during a reg-season game.

This is what I was saying all last season, and after the season. Henning was the issue. I'm really excited to see what Henne does this year, I expect him to take a huge step forward.

Henne through an int (that Fasano should have caught) in the first preseason game and still played well despite what the stat-line showed.

You don't think that preseason game felt real to Henne? I'll bet he'd disagree.

BOSTON:

ok man, i gotta ask, are you a communist or is this some kind of wierd late night cable channell cartoon character?

not gonna flame, i just gotta know.

MARSHALL: lets see what is said when henne misses a couple wide open throws to him that would have been td's. last years statements were NOTHING about henning thumbing him down. and thats AFTER henning was gone!!! remember, part of brian marshalls illness brings massive mood swings. like bipolar disorder, personality disorder brings mood changes. right now brian is flying high getting that big play and seeing the pass more prominent, liking the offense better, etc......, but the "negative" comments like the ones he tossed out last year will be back when balls are sailing overhead, ints start, etc....... .

i LOVE what i am seeing out of this new scheme, but 10 points from our starters against tampa in the dress rehearsal game isnt screaming rosie future. this o-line truelly is a BIG JOKE, people out of there natural positions, people who should be retiring and not playing, people who shouldnt even be on the team and a pro bowl lt who we probably wont be seeing much of this season. throw in denial from a widely undeserving "O-LINE GURU", and HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!! a big one. and the guys who are out there who can still help a team on the line are getting swolllowed up by teams who have already figured out there line needs help.

so again, we will see how smart and beat down by the man the opinions are IF we start the season 1-4.

Brian Marshall????
and you want people to take you seriously?

Chad Henne is not a great QB but then he was hampered as a Dolphin by poor coaching. Easy example is look at play action play fakes (which he is now better at).

Henning, Lee and Sparano took the gunslinger out of Chad Henne. His choice of audibles were mostly just one or sometimes two others plays. If he did see something the defense was doing he had little say over adjusting to it.

It's the coaching....or lack of.....

P.S. Going to suck when Nolan leaves next season.

I was very happy to see him audible into the shotgun when we were about to score. It does show alot of growth when he audibles into a formation we all know he uncomfortable in. It means he is gaining confidence. I was disappointed that he missed an open Bess in the endzone that would have given him another TD, and instead took off running. But is seems he is learning so thats good.

I would rather we can Sparano and promote Nolan than lose Nolan all together.

C'mon man, this was obvious........ henning hampered henne, henning hampered henne, henning hampered henne............ i've said it a thousand times fast.
