Irritates the hell out of me

Just curious. Why do you need to stand up? What can you do standing that you cannot do sitting? I've done both, usually because the person in front of me believes that standing does something other than block the views of those behind you.

Personally I've never understood the need to stand to watch something. I bet you would be ticked if you showed up at a stadium and there were no seats or better yet go to a movie and have someone stand up in front of you the whole time because they think it improves the movie.

Would you be singing the same tune then? Doubtful.

Are you the man that sits behind me?

Anyway, referring to your comments. It is a known fact that you gain more vocal strength in your voice by standing. Not a lot, but some none the less. When 70,000 people's vocal's are raised just a little bit, it adds up. Plus, it's a football game! The whole point is to have a beer and go nuts.

The reason there are seats in the stadium is because you are actually expected to sit through some parts of the game. The team can hear you cheer they can't actually see you standing. If they do watch you stand then we may lose the rest of the games this year becasue they should focused on the opposing team. Suggestion: Stand up and cheer AFTER the team made a good play. That way you can enjoy yourself and the person sitting behind you can enjoy the game too.

**** that. It's a FOOTBALL GAME. You're SUPPOSED to stand and make massive amounts of noise when your defense is on the field. I was at the Sunday night game against Washington a couple years ago and I also had to tell someone to **** off for the same reason. I also told them that if they didn't like it they could go find another ****ing seat. Guess what? They did. I think they were so appauled by what I said to them, they left. People like that aren't football fans. You should've slugged the *******.
How does standing improve your vocal output or your ability to make noise?

On the flip side, I hate when I'm the only person pumpped in my section. I fly down once a year, may not even make it next year. I don't want to spend all that money and fly 1200 miles to sit in silence!!!!:yell:

If you people are in my section and your not cheering, then go the f home!!!!:fire:

Little by little Im in love

If I can ever get to see the Dolphins I'll be standing every chance I get at the right times. F@#* sitting, ESPECIALLY on plays where the defense needs a stop or something like that. And if a big play happens, I'd be up on my feet in no time.

Completely understand your frustration. I was at a big HS game last year (a game that drew so many people it had to be moved to a large venue and brought in 9,000 people - HS Basketball), and some guy had the nerve to say I was standing too much. Well sorry buddy when they are mounting a comeback with the clock ticking down, I'm not touching my seat.

99% of singers stand because they aren't Miami Dolphins season ticket holders. If they were they would sit down.

I think it's more mental than anything, but I just yell louder when I'm standing up than sitting. PLus, I'll pound on the seat in front of me as loud as I can too on 3rd down.

Why do you think 99.9% of singers stand when they sing, instead of sit? Think about it.
Usually they are performing, but it might be the case. However, we are talking one person signing to 60,000 yelling.

One thing you did not answer or I missed.

Were you standing the whole game or just at certain parts where noise might have been needed more

Just at certain points. This will be the third time I have said this. I was standing almost every 3rd down when the Dolphins were on defense, and every time the man bitched at me to "sit down". Which eventually prompted my somewhat arrogant response.

I find this funny...almost

First of all, I'd like to say being at the game, I haven't seen the Fins play that well for atleast 4 years. I was pumped.

Secondly, and more importantly.....

WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH PEOPLE ASKING ME TO SIT DOWN DURING A ****ING FOOTBALL GAME?!?!? :fire:

Honestly, if you can't deal with somebody in front of you standing up, don't come to the games. That was the first time I have ever told a Dolphins fan at a game to go **** himself. Seriously guys, I'm not trying to be an *** but that's ****ing ridiculous. If the person in front of you stands, STAND WITH THEM!..... Jesus.

First, there is no reason to be rude - period. Ever. Be glad that the person behind you didn't take offense. I've seen people get their leg stuck in their ear for less. Might happen to someone making a flaming nuiscance of themselves even in a football game. If the person asking one to sit is the flaming nuiscance, that is still no reason to be rude. Being in a football stadium does not excuse behavior you would not do elsewhere.

For about 20 years at the OB, I would scream at the top of my lungs at Dolphins games. Then the team moved to Joe Robbie Stadium and I realized the screaming doesn't make that much of a difference as in the OB. Plus, I realized I would probably have a heart attack by the time I was in my 40's. Today, I stand up on crucial plays and only scream when a butt-head in front of me won't sit down. Go figure.

So talk to those people who were yelling at you.
What exactly do you expect to resolve here?

You want a pity party..... here you go!

The game was great and the crowd that was there was loud.

I'm sick of seeing these rediculous "our fans suck" and "our uniforms suck threads"

Great game today and everyone should be happy, nonetheless someone will always come to the table beeyatchin. :shakeno:
