another thought...

consideration for others...
i.e. i am disabled in my knees and ankles. you may not know it sometimes by looking at me, because I can stand and walk for short periods of time most of the time. but there are times I cannot stand or walk, and then you tell me to **** myself when I ask you to sit down so I can see? maybe the guy behind you had a disability that prevented him from getting up or standing or standing for very long.
My point is you never know. You may consider this next time before you are rude to him, that you may not know the full story of why he asked you to sit down....just a thought..t

Sorry but there is a handicap section, that over sees everything. Everyone in the house could be standing, and you won't miss a play.

No, he was standing perfectly fine when the Dolphins scored TD's. But on 3rd downs when we were on defense he was bitching at me to sit down. He did this atleast 5 time before I told him off.

OK then, you did the right thing. Next time tell him you'll sit when the defense is off the field, and tell him to get his (_)_) up and scream.

I've only gone to one Dolphins game, and pretty much everybody was sitting the entire time.
I've gone to plenty of Hurricanes games, and the only time people sit down is during a timeout, halftime, or they fall because their so frickin wasted. But the point is, if you love your team, you go to the game. And you go to the game, because you want your team to win. And the best thing you can do to help your team win, is to get off your *** and scream at the top of your lungs when their on defense and when they score. If you ask someone to sit down because you don't feel like standing up, then go to a place where you're supposed to sit to watch the game...like your living room.

If everyone is standing then fine but if your just up dancing around while no one else is then sit your arse down and yell.

I am from the school that if you don't want people to stand infront of you don't go to the game. That is a big reason why I don't go to concerts

yes but the handicap is more for wheelchair and so forth. Me I can get around and stand for a few minutes here and there, but can't stand for the whole game. If I want a closer seat and purchase it then i have that right and the right to be able to see the game...what you are in essence are saying is to segregate the handicapped no matter how much or how little they are handicap, which is discrimination and is not legal..or what if the handicap designated area is full, as it was at the HOF? we shoould have to go home then because you guys want to trample our rights?...t

Your going to hate me for this, but if your handicaped, and want to see a game, then you should be in the handicaped section, which is never sold out at a game. You should not risk, nor should the Dolphins or another fan be at risk for you to get injured. What happens when the team makes a spectacular touchdown? People jump up and down, slapping high fives, running over three isles to high five others. It would make me sick to my stomach if I we're to hurt someone who could do nothing about it. So......

The handicaped should indeed be segregated in certain instances.

Brutha, if we're at a movie theatre, and I'm in your way, I' gladly yield. I might even give up my seat to you if that helps, but at a football game, I'm not buying it. I'm there to get rowdy, and for years and years the common rule of a fan at a home game is to stand up, and scream when the defense is on the field. That's how it is, and should always be. When I'm 60-65 yrs old, I'm not going to go to a game if I'm going to get in the way of anyone. I'll stay home.....

I personally don't make a big deal out of it, as so far, most people in front of me so far, have not remained standing for a long time and when I explain to them that I cant stand for long, and would appreciate them not standing all the time, they have been kind enough to honor that...so I have had no probs. But my Point to APA and you is you never know who has a disability or who does not unless they tell you, and there are many disabled people in one way or another at the games sitting in the bleachers right along with you. That is why i said be courteous because you never know, and you never know when that person may someday be you. But APA explained this was not the situation with this guy, so I can see APA's frustration..don't think I would have been that rude, but prob would have done somethng similar, but I would have first made sure that there was not a special reason for his request...t

See, but if a person who has the same problems as you just flat out tells me to sit down, I'm telling him to F off too. He is the one who made first contact, so he should have indeed done as you do, and explain the situation. Now, if you were behind me, and asked me like you say you do then I would simply say lets switch seats. If you say no, then it's on you.

Having always sat in the visitors section, I'll just say it often helps to acknowledge your neighbors early on.
This can, (but not always) at least set up a sense of mutual respect, so that if there ARE problems, they don't build up and erupt as though your just the ***hole sitting behind someone.

Also for those who have yet to pound their 10th beer, its usually easiest to explain things prior to anyone's total inebriation.

If its explained early on that you have difficulty standing, often, in groups of three or more, they can sometimes shift their seats, so that seat has somone less hardcore sitting there, or maybe even within the group seated behind.
The key being, at least acknowledge your neighbors, and get things straightened out ASAP.

It doesn't always work at Raider games, but then again, its not wise to even wear a jersey at a Raiders game, unless its silver and black.

But given the situation at hand, when the D' playin, I would expect the entire section on their feet, shakin the rafters., and anyone seated, to at least be supporting those standing as well. Heck, If a guy in front of me puts his kid on his shoulders, more power to him I say, If I can't see the play, yet the noise helps create a false start? Cool!

Fact is if you want to sit and have a GOOD view, there is a place called home where you can sit on your a$$ and get the best view possible. It is called your TV. I wish more fans would stand and show support.

Oh freakin wannnnnnh. It is hot, it is a long game, I paid to sit in the seat. Put on the pads play the game in the heat and then I will give you an ear to listen to the wine.

If I want to sit, I will go to a movie.

If you are disabled, you should sit in a handicap section,front row of the second deck, or ask for assistance to find a place that you can see the game. It does suck for those that are disabled. It also sucks to be at a game and sit on your but and not be able to show all of your enthusiasm. I think the stadium should have a section for the disabled, families w/ small children, or elderly people. Or just plain ol fat lazy bums that are to ornry to want to stand and cheer!

First of all, I'd like to say being at the game, I haven't seen the Fins play that well for atleast 4 years. I was pumped.

Secondly, and more importantly.....

WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH PEOPLE ASKING ME TO SIT DOWN DURING A ****ING FOOTBALL GAME?!?!? :fire:

Honestly, if you can't deal with somebody in front of you standing up, don't come to the games.That was the first time I have ever told a Dolphins fan at a game to go **** himself. Seriously guys, I'm not trying to be an *** but that's ****ing ridiculous. If the person in front of you stands, STAND WITH THEM!..... Jesus.

I personally hate to have to stand up every 10 seconds, I can cheer sitting down
