Irritates the hell out of me

Just at certain points. This will be the third time I have said this. I was standing almost every 3rd down when the Dolphins were on defense, and every time the man bitched at me to "sit down". Which eventually prompted my somewhat arrogant response.
Ok, instead of being pissed at them, might want to try to inspire them to join the fun in a pleasant way.

It's like Bill Cosby once said about cocaine. "People say cocaine augments your personality. Great, but what if you are an as*hol*.

Exactly. You're only supposed to stand on 3rd down. I should also add that the time I responded the way I did was not the first time the ***** asked me to sit. I ignored her the first two times before I finally lashed out.

No ****, if the guy that sits in Section 239, Row 7, Seat 5 happens to visit Finheaven, I'd like to share some more words with you. Sad thing is I think the ignorant **** is a Season Ticket holder so I have to deal with his **** every week. If anyone wants to come help me out one game and hastle this guy, I'd appreciate that.

Edit: Or if you just want to come down and enjoy a beer, that's cool too.:drinkers:

Didn't read the whole thread but this guy sounds BIG. :happydrin

 Just kiddin, always hard to tell whos diabled and whos not, and who's psychotic and whos not.

That said, strickly from an outsiders point of view, theres been a lingering stigma about Dolphins Stadium and its crowds.. Ever since they left the OrangeBowl, the word is, the fans just are not as loud and game affecting there, as with other stadiums. So again from way out west, based on only what we hear from the commentators it would appear theres not enough peeps standing, jumping, and rockin that joint, and in otherwords, theres room to err on the imposing side.

You should tell them to go home with the other half of the people sitting at home with their nice air conditioning. ooooomph.

You can stand, but if the person behind you asks you to sit your arse down, you should do it. Nobody pays to watch your backside.

Only fat and lazy people should be sitting on there a$$ at a NFL game......

Didn't say the noise that IS there, wasn't appreciated!

:couch2:

Funny thing is that most of the testosterone driven 20-something guys standing throughout the game are overweight and drunk. Oh, I forgot - they are also wearing their Dolphins uniforms hoping Nick Saban will see them and say "Hey, fat dude! Put down your beers and go in for Jason Taylor on the next play."

I hope there is really not that much anger built up inside someone because they were asked to sit down? I mean think about it. Is it really worth cussing someone out, what if there were kids around that heard you cuss this person out. That is ridiculous. The main reason why I don't take my kids to sporting events: Drunken fools that swear with every sentence.

This thread is the perfect example of why I prefer to watch the games at home on TV: Don't have to worry about some guy standing in front of me, or telling me to sit,or smoking in a nonsmoking stadium,or throwing up his beer on me,or cutting me off in traffic, or wanting to fight if he roots for the bloody Jets.

YMMV.:D

Yeah, I've seriously thought about that.

I don't have kids yet.
When I do have them I want them to have the same great experience I had growing up going to games. It was a great bonding exp. for me with my father.

Yet on the other hand, how in the heck do you prepare them to deal with thousands of idiots drunk off their arse cussing and fighting. Tough situation.

another thought...

consideration for others...
i.e. i am disabled in my knees and ankles. you may not know it sometimes by looking at me, because I can stand and walk for short periods of time most of the time. but there are times I cannot stand or walk, and then you tell me to **** myself when I ask you to sit down so I can see? maybe the guy behind you had a disability that prevented him from getting up or standing or standing for very long.
My point is you never know. You may consider this next time before you are rude to him, that you may not know the full story of why he asked you to sit down....just a thought..t

If that were the case, then one might say "I can't stand, would you please sit so I can see." I bet you'd get a lot better response out of someone!

I am going to have to agree -- at a football game, one has the right to stand up. I don't like to sit around sedate fans.

Who the heck just sits there the whole game? I bet you the person that asked you to sit down was standing at one point or another. I understand your disposition on not being able to stand for long periods of time... But in the majority, most people just need to get the **** over themselves and have fun.

Exactly! When did we become so freakin hoity toity? I mean, do you really have to be a drunken "testosterone driven" 20 something year old to be a fan that has a great time, makes noise, and stands up?

WE NEED PEOPLE TO STAND UP. Do you know why people like Jason Taylor put their hands up in the air -- STAND UP! MAKE NOISE!

He isn't thinking "Stand up, but please be courteous and make sure it is okay with the person behind you. And the person behind them. And ask them to ask the person behind them for you. Especially if you are as tall as I am."

First of all, I'd like to say being at the game, I haven't seen the Fins play that well for atleast 4 years. I was pumped.

Secondly, and more importantly.....

WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH PEOPLE ASKING ME TO SIT DOWN DURING A ****ING FOOTBALL GAME?!?!? :fire:

Honestly, if you can't deal with somebody in front of you standing up, don't come to the games. That was the first time I have ever told a Dolphins fan at a game to go **** himself. Seriously guys, I'm not trying to be an *** but that's ****ing ridiculous. If the person in front of you stands, STAND WITH THEM!..... Jesus.

The time to stand is when the defense is on the field. Was this the case?

When the defense is on the field there is no excuse for sitting down. That's what I pay for. To be able to stand and scream, and be the 12th man. If the offense is on the field, then its time to sit and rest, and take in a few plays. :)
