Is it time to go get a Center?

No. But this staff has so far not done much more than the others to fix it... the same as others. Yeah yeah Armstead, but as soon as he gets injured, we are pretty much the same garbage as last year.

I understand it can't be all fixed in 1 year but the point of my response is until a staff has proven it can field a good o line, how can anyone defend this?
Rong!

We have 15 new coaches, most with more & a better background in coaching, player experience, or BOTH!
The offensive coaching staff, the defensive coaching staff and the Special Teams coaching staff have increased in size.

1) Better Coaches
2) More Coaches
3) Less Confusion about play calling (our new HC will be calling the plays).

This may not be baseball, but 3 STRIKES AND YOU'RE OUT!!!

YOU ARE OUT - LOL

Get those "crow pie" recipes up to date - you will need them soon - LOL
I said it remains to be seen----not that can't do it. But at this point, after year after year of failure...I am from the show me state!

Whatever they do they better not mess around too long.

I'd rather be overely eagar at that position and get more bodies than i end up needed compared to scrambling last minute because what i currently have isn't working.

They had the Great Orlando Pace in his prime and Adam Timmerman made the Pro Bowl so that is pretty good, but not stacked.

The only way to have loaded OL now is to go the Dallas way and invest tons of capital there or be good/lucky with several mid to late round picks.

To be fair, IF Miami had hit on all their OL picks the last 3-4 Drafts( let's say Jackson, Hunt, Dieter and Eich are all Pro Bowl caliber) they would be pretty loaded there, but the would be a year or two away from the cost getting prohibitive to keep them together.
That's why no.matter what is done to bring this line into shape it will be an every year, ongoing process to maintain it--involving mostly good scouting/development (drafting starters with 2nd and 3rd day picks, opportunistic FA signings and occasionally trading away high caliber guys before they get too expensive to keep). Probably still easier to maintain once a solid level has been achieved than to reach that point from where this team started a few years back.

It's not necessary for me or the team to "show" you anything.
If you simply watch the games this season you can draw your own conclusions.
I suggest you start "drawing" with crayons - I hope you understand - you need to crawl before you can walk and walk before you can run! - LOL

Yeah yeah, a lot to feel good about. But still, for me, I'm going to need to see it to believe it at this point. How many times have we been fooled before with o line specialists and offensive "geniuses". Anyway still ready to enjoy this season of effing football!!!!!

I don't see what the last 10 years have to do with anything. Were any of those ten years this year? Because I'm pretty sure we plan to begin playing our games in 2022 with a different coach, system, additions to the line, so forth.

The last 10 years have 0 impact on how you should be judging a team. Last year? Yeah, that's more relevant but we also brought in better coaching offensively and a couple new starters.

I don't expect the best line in the league, but I expect around average.
HA!!!! How many times have I heard this argument?? Let's see, oh yeah, THE PAST 20 YEARS!!!

It's just a fact. No year is directly related to the next ten years. I think you can break it into chunks by coaches and come up with problems for each and they may have the same problems....yet they also failed for different reasons.

You can't try and judge a new staff based on things they didn't do. They may fail too but it won't be because of what other coaches did in the past.

If failures in the past represent the current, no way the Bengals should have made the SB.

You just made my point for me-thank you!

Best way to predict the future is by studying the past!!
Often stated incorrectly.

Those who don't study the past will likely make the same mistakes.
Those who do study the past are less likely to make those mistakes.
People who follow their dreams make the future brighter, sometimes - LOL

My recommendation is: T H I N K !!!

Reminds me of a refrain from "My Fair Lady".
With modifications to the lyric to fit the "Lemmings" on this board:

Why can't a "Lemming" be more like a man.

"Straightening up their hair (as in having their hackle's up) is all they ever do,
Why don't they straighten up the mess that's inside" - LOL

I love it when a plan comes together - LOL
