Is Saban the right choice?

How many starters do you have from your 10-11 win seasons?

This isnt Tampa getting Gruden.

I like the talent you brought in.

But, you guys arent being optimistic your being arrogant. There is no reason why someone gets jumped all over for thinking Saban wasnt the right choice.

The fact is he HAS DONE NOTHING, so opinions can be good or bad, and all opinions should be allowed because anyone could be right.

The Wanny point goes no where with me. Im not going to feel sorry for you guys when you won 10-11 with Wanny every year.

I just threw up because that actually made sense to me. I'm agreeing with a Bills fan? I think I need to lie down for awhile. My head hurts.

Can I just say one thing without being threatened?

Saban hasnt proven anything, so anything positive you say can have a negative response.

If your going to speculate, be prepared to get it thrown right back in your face.

If your not strong enough to have it thrown back in your face, just dont post anything.

If someone is going to tell me a guy that hasnt proved anything is an upgrade or a sure thing Im going to tell you why HE MIGHT FAIL.

I really dont understand why the HE MIGHT FAIL gets lost with dolphin fans when theres a better chance he fails then succeeds.

Its not like this guy dominated in college anyways. 3-4 losses a year in college is not very good.

Very true but, the arguement that Saban may fail is valid, but to compare Saban to Spurrier is rediculous, not only that but he made coments that his time away from the pro game may have made any acomplishments from the past years with Cleveland null and void i.e. "past him by". when infact the same defensive schemes Saban used ten years ago are still used today.

The poster also makes claims that the game is "completely different" from college to pro when infact many many college teams run pro style offenses and defenses. Yes they are scaled down and the athletes are not the same quality, non the less the game isn't so much different that Saban can't adapt.

The poster also has shown concern over Sabans past, (what has he done?). Well Look at Toledo, MSU and LSU.

For the NFL and fans not only from Miami but from Cleveland as well see coaches like Saban and Crennell as the new wave of coaching in the NFL, not to mention Notre Dame where Wies is presently.
It's not unlike Walsh in SF then Holmgrem(SP?) in Green Bay and so on in the late 80s' and into the 90s'.

So it's not that his arguement that Saban may fail is the reason people are reacting to him negetively as much as it is his reasons WHY he feels Saban will fail.

Hey Dolphins fans,
I just signed up for this site and ever since his hiring, I've been concerned with the hiring of Nick Saban and the decisions he has made. The guy hasn't coached in the NFL in who knows how long, and now we are giving him full responsibility? His last year in the NFL wasn't great, those Browns teams that he was the DC of weren't great, and overall, I feel he is overrated. He only had one great season at LSU and now BOOM, he is our coach. I'm not really impressed with the guy at all. I have a feeling that he might just be the next Spurrier, I just think he has been out of the game too long. Plus, I don't think he knows enough about offense and our biggest concern is offense. Our defense was fine before.

I'm just worried, I don't think Saban is the great thing that we are all expecting. I don't think he will finish his contract.

Yes, but I also think there is no reason at this time to be negative. Perhaps after he's been here for at least a season there will be legitimate things to criticize and doubt, but at this point it all looks good.

Great draft, nice free agent acquisitions, excellent staff assembled, I can't see how any Dolphin fan is not excited at this point about the future?

This guy was extremely well regarded throughtout the NFL, NFL teams have been trying to lure him for years and Huezinga was the owner that pulled it off.

This post seems to me to be more the work of a jealous fan from one of our rivals than the sincere feelings of a Dolphin fan, and the fact that he is brand new only raises the suspicion.

Who said opinions weren't allowed?? And who wants you to feel sorrry for me??

You're reading things that I didn't say and your transfering other people's opinions onto me.

I told you why most people are optimistic. I was neither arrogant or antagonistic in my answer to you, as a matter of fact, I even went so far as to say you may be right.

I got that same notion.

Totally agree Blue,
I forgot to mention that he was an obvious Bates supporter so he had an agenda going into this thread.

Is niceguy99 really the right guy to be a Dolphin fan? What experience does he have at this level? Can he adapt to this level of pro fans? Does he have enough knowledge of the Dolphins to be able to call himself a fan? From what I have researched from his posts I am not sure he can make it at the next level.

Another "Why did we hire Saban thread!!" Give me a break!! Once again, we're so easy to judge before giving that person a legitimate chance!! There are always a few that have to question every little thing!!:fire:

No comment as you have already been

by several posters in this thread.

The thread starter is just disgruntled because of Jim Bates not being hired.
