Agreed on that’s what he doesAgreed. McDaniel just tries to show the players respect, he puts his heart into them. It's on the players to hold themselves accountable.
However the results don’t show enough from them

You know that’s not what I was doing. His lack of coaching ability is plain for all to see, regardless of his attire.Determining coaching ability by a coaches clothes and watch is crazy. BB looked like a homeless person most times. I don’t think that affected his coaching abilities at all.
Fair enough.Or he was unable to make the changes that were needed due to the organization.
From my own experience if there is a culture problem with employees it due to the top management. Management allowed that culture to occur. The correct solution would have been to demand the changes needed from the very top (GM/HC) and if any player doesn't get on board, take corrective actions. Once the culture starts to change then many players/employees get on board. It may take dropping the hammer on the Hollands and Ramseys but so what once its fixed its fixed and now the other employees productivity will markedly improve.
Since this was not done, Fangio to his credit said, "He couldn't fix it and he walked". I would have done the same thing in his shoes.
Fair enough.
That's not why Fangio left. He always wanted to go to Philadelphia, where his kids live, but he missed out because of timing the year before. He never wanted to be here. Miami was just a consolation prize.
While I agree with you, the other poster made some reasonable arguments.
Since none of us were there, so none of us really know.
All we have are presumptions and speculations, of which I feel mine are the best. - LOL
How the heck would I know? - LOLWhere's my "pssssht!" meme?
And how did that work out?
The PLAYERS need to be self motivated and disciplined if a coach is going to succeed. Especially in this league. The coaches just don’t have any power to do anything other than lead the players to water. If they choose not to drink, there’s really not much any coach can do.
I’ve said this many times, but a HC is there to teach and motivate. He’s a manager of players… not their dad. And good players (employees) don’t need a manager to be an azzhat.
The Dolphins players, for 2 decades now, have been lackadaisical and more concerned with money than winning. Not all, but the majority. And when you have a majority like that the culture won’t change. And Grier has helped build that culture by bringing in guys like that.
"Correction Update, Correction Update"The defense carried Tua in his only healthy season out of the last seven. Instead of blaming failure in those trully responsible ( tua, mcdaniels, ross ) stupid homers and tua lovers blamed the only good thing about that year: Fangio
Are you joking? The Dolphins defense was ranked 22nd in the league in 2023.The defense carried Tua in his only healthy season out of the last seven. Instead of blaming failure in those trully responsible ( tua, mcdaniels, ross ) stupid homers and tua lovers blamed the only good thing about that year: Fangio
That’s because he’s really good. No bueno here baby.Fangios heart was never in Miami. I respect his skill as a defensive coach but he was a poor match with our Dolphins.
My favorite part was when after Chubb whiffed on a sack, Fangio ran out there and ripped his helmet off. What a dolt, 15 yard penalty, ultimately cost us 4 points right there in the epic defensive meltdown (also aided and abetted by a pitiful offense but not on topic). This team needs a "Heartbreak Ridge" (The Movie) sort of intervention. I don't know why those guy's quit in the Tenn game but they damn sure did. Some of the perps are gone, that's a start. Hopefully the hierarchy has recognized the problem and is taking step to correct it.
Yes, Fangio and Philly are very happy. Who’s not in the happy equation as usual? There are several examples of Fangio not playing nice with others when he was even mildly disgruntled.
He wanted to be in Philly, not Miami. He got what he wanted, and everyone in Philly ended up happy.
Watson? Kraft? Tucker?Yes, Fangio and Philly are very happy. Who’s not in the happy equation as usual?
