Nothing against Louisianna....I just meant that there are places where you are out in the middle of nowhere, no phones, no truck stops or gas stations....but I do love that food especially the spicey shrimp and gumbo, and the music and the nice cajun accents.....I liked seeing the mist coming up off the fields in the morning as I was driving down the road listening to zydeco music...it's like being in a different country. :)

That's why I put the  in there. ;)

Hey, you think there is dead land in LA? Try making a cross-state trip in ALABAMA!

Depends on what time of the year.

If you go on a Tuesday night in August, it'll still be crowded, and the bars open, but it's just like any other party city.

Now, if you make it down for Mardi Gras, or the Sugar Bowl (ESPECIALLY WHEN LSU WAS IN IT :woot: )

THEN, it's nuts, bananas, and 3 types of crazy. :goof:

No doubt. I drove from Fort Lauderdale to Chapel Hill a few years ago... OMG, what a long, boring, mind-numbing experience that was. The only thing interesting about it was me finding out how fast a rental Chevy Lumina would run. (107 and the ecm throttles it back). I managed what was supposed to be a 13 hour trip in about 10 hours, but almost **** a brick when I passed a Georgia state trooper (sitting in the median) about a mile from the GA / SC border, going about 107. :(

Yeah, you have to watch for those Georgia speed traps. They can be a killer. They love to hide in the trees in the medians!

I'm not a ****ing sissy, dude. I'm just not one for the idea of sobering up only to realize you're halfway across the country and you have no place to stay, and possibly nothing to do (since I imagine the tickets have been long sold out).
That movie sucked by the way.

Oh no, I didn't mean it like that. I was just quoting my favorite line from the movie. Didn't realize it would come off like that (though I should have). I apologize for that.

But to say that movie sucked?? I'm seriously worried about you man.

I drove over a HUGE bridge in Baton Rouge over the Mississippi River.....damn what a huge river and bridge,,,,,I almost got vertigo....LOL This guy went flying by me with a purple and yellow painted van with LSU flags and decals all over....the folks really support their LSU TIGERS....I saw a lot of Geaux Tigers bumper stickers. :D

Dude, you should have seen when LSU was in the Sugar Bowl.

I don't know what was more nuts, that, or Mardi Gras.

Check this out. One night before the game, there was a contengency of LSU people all on the street and on some balconies.

Then, there was this one balcony with all Oklahoma people on it. They had the doors open and they were playing their boring, monotone fight song on a stereo.

Then, all of a sudden, about 30 members of the LSU band came from around the corner, got an amp and a mic, and played our fight song really loud right under thier balcony.

(click on "Pregame-Touchdown for LSU." It's the second one, under "Tiger Rag" ...and turn your speakers up loud.

ALL the LSU people went nuts, arms were flinging everywhere, **** started to get thrown, etc...

I don't think I've ever had that much fun since that time.

 Good stuff! All we get here is immature turning over of cars, car fires, etc. It's pretty sad really. They call us THE football state, HEH... more like the senior prank state with no taste. Man I hate Ohio. Ah well, I digress.
