It's time to cut Feeley

LOL AJ played horrid last nite, that I do not dispute. But so has Gus. Sorry 2/3 doesnt change that. He went 9 for 25 last week after having a good first series. You can project hius stats all you want, but fact is he generally got worse as teh game went on in each game he started. Oh and I say that but believe Gus should start.

My point is, if you say AJ should get cut based on performance in one game, Gus should have been cut in teh 1st cuts.

Yeah I know you have a myriad of excuses ready. I CANT wait to read thse "facts".

You made some good points and there is no excuse for the poor performance of both QBs. It all boils down to "the lesser of two evils." We are all sick and tired of Feeley's trademark pick 6s, so Gus should be the man behind center, because when Gus played; his mistakes result as an incomplete pass. When Feeley plays, his mistakes are a whole different magnitude. We've seen Feeley fumble that result in TDs and throw pick 6s all last year. It looks like it still isn't out of his system yet, and for the sake of our team's mental toughness, they can't go through another season of mistakes like that again.

Why is ti a sick feeling. Hell, at least you know you are starting from scratch again and have a shot at finding a possible QB. We know what we have now, and it isn't getting any better over time.

I somewhat feel vindicated. I feel like my constant posting that AJ is what he is considering he is a 5 year vet....may finally have proved the Feeley backers I was right.

LOL I knew there would be a "see I was right, see I was right" post. Yeah cause you KNEW Aj wouldnt handle thsi pressure. Like you KNEW Ryan leaf would bust the day he was drafted. Like you KNEW Brees would finally click after 3 years of porous play, right? 5 years in teh league, 12 games played. Less than one season and 7 of those games in an offense that would qualify as one of teh worst in history. But you KNEW! Many people didnt think AJ had it. I thought the talent may come out with a better surrounding cast.

LOL You knew nothingand you never know what the future holds. I no w have some doubts as to AJ becoming a viable starter, yes. But consider that many qbs looked like Garbage until it all clicked. I just dont know that it will with AJ and at this point you cant put your eggs in that basket.

Feeley's gone. We could have the cheapest starting QB in the league in Sage Rosenfels.

I was one of those guys that said to give Feeley a chance and time, now I am not so sure.......maybe it's time we just let him go.

i think it would be ridiculous to bring in any qb at this late point - unless its rivers. Personally, I am getting myself prepared for one hell of a long season. none of these qbs is at stage where they are going to help us win. our offensive line regressed again and now our defense cant stop the run. add a shaky secondary and its the type of season that looks to be pretty ugly. I would still start AJ just because i think he's more used to playing behind our turnstile oline. eventually he'll get injured and then gus will come in until he gets injured and then sage hopefully finishes out the year.

I agree that right now Gus is teh best option we have. That doesnt mean I like teh best option. He hasnt thrown a pick 6, but he did have a fumble returned for 6. He constantly over, under throws or throws behind receivers. He has had many incompletes that should have been picks. AJ gets many pick 6's because the are all on those quick hitters, those quick outs or quick slants where there is noone between teh defender and goal line. That is a weakness that unfortunately popped its head again last nite.

This is a real ****ty time to be a Dolfan. I grew up watching Griese and Marino and have generally been spoiled by great QB's. Now I'm forced to watch 'Dumb and Dumber' every time the Fin's play. I should change my name to Pessfinistic because my expectations for this season are rapidly going down the drain. I know Saban has his hands full undoing the damage this team sustained during the Wanny Error and that we have a couple tough years ahead of us. So for now we need to be patient and supportive of the team. We will overcome this situation, Nick has us pointed in the right direction.

Go fins!

OK guys he's learning a completely new system while competing against a guy who's been familiar with it for years. He's had maybe a full games worth of playtime this preseason. If every coach thought like you guys did..... Guys like Kurt Warner/Trent Green would have been looking for new day-jobs years ago. I'm positive that if they told AJ he was "the guy" Early on and gave him every snap necessary, we would be in a much better situation.

If anyone needs to be cut its Gus!!!

Hes 32 yrs old
He can't outperform AJ at all, and hes actually familiar with the playbook.

I'm still waiting for the moment in which we can fairly judge AJ. Until then.....
GET A CLUE YO!!!!

First off, your attitude in all these Feeley threads is getting annoying, grow up will you.

Second, where are you pulling this Brees and Leaf crap from? Oh, that's right, just from somewhere to try and make your post logical and to continue your arguing. This has nothing to do with them so it is irrelevant.

Third. I have been saying since the end of last year Feeley is not the answer, we saw what he had last year and he didn't show he had "it". His play through minicamps, training camp, and preseason this year continues to prove what I believed true following the end of last season....he does not have what it takes to be a starter in the NFL, nor will he ever. This is in reply to the countless people (like yourself) who continued to say he needs more time with the system, he needs more game experience, he needs to change his facemask and get rid of the one extra bar at the top (as he did this year), he needs to cut his fingernails shorter so he can grip better, etc...etc....

we could use feeleys salary for more pressing needs like a Q-B

A.J sucks and we know Gs is not that much better but cutting A.J saves 3 mi thatl could be use for Simons.

Wait a minute. One week ago, Feeley was the guy who should be the starter. What's happened to change that?

Only reason why I thought Feeley should because Frerrote wasn't that much better but A.J shouldn't even be a backup QB and we could use the money if he is cut.
