Few notes:

* This is a board specifically for Miami with a focus on how the players fit scheme, as well as their value to the team.

* I left question marks for White and Bush, because they're the types of talents you want to make work, but it'd require a shift in responsibilities from what Flores asked of his LB's in NE

* The draft grades take into account positional value and value to Miami at this stage in their rebuild. Defensive players take a hit, because Miami should be building with the 2020 QB in mind.

* The groupings are more important than the rankings.

* You can make a case for CB's 1-7 as CB1. All have warts and a lot to like.

* The draft is typically thin at OL, but 2019 does seem particularly light. After the 8 OL with Top 40 grades, it gets sketchy pretty quick.

Some interesting stuff in there
Irv Smith the 8th ranked TE?
Wilkins a 2nd Round grade?
Jacobs the 7th best RB?
Greedy Williams the 5th best CB?

Would love to get that value on some of these guys.
1-Haskins/Gary/Ferrell/Jonah Williams
2-Wilkins or Williams
3-BA
4-Smith or Jacobs

Fantastic!

Thank you!

Appreciate the questions. I'm lower on those players than most. Irv Smith Jr is pretty good - have him as a fringe Day 2 player. But, he's small for the position and not very athletic. The hope is that he's Jordan Reed (minus the injuries), but imo it's more likely that he ends up being a rotational TE in the NFL. Miami in particular needs a TE to pair with Gesicki, which means it needs a guy who can thrive attached to the line. The TE's ahead of him are either better blockers and better athletes or better athletes with frames more conducive to playing on the line. Back in October or November, Slimm pointed out Hockenson and Moreau as the types of TE's Miami should be targeting, and, as usual, he nailed it.

Wilkins is good, too. As I mentioned in the notes, defensive players take a hit, because Miami needs to build the OL and add some weapons for the 2020 QB. The DT's (only 4) listed ahead of Wilkins are more dynamic and project as players who will have a greater impact on opposing QB's.

Jacobs has a well-rounded game, but I'm always skeptical of players who were never "the guy" in college. Kamara was so dynamic, and such a good receiver, that he was undeniable, but I don't see that in Jacobs. I see a guy who will do everything well and nothing great. There's value in that, and I could rank him as high as RB3 without doubting it too hard, but iirc, Jacobs posted 1 rush over 20 yards in 2018. I prefer the breakaway ability of guys like Hill, Johnson, and Sanders.

Greedy has a case for CB1, but I doubt he's what Miami wants in a CB. During Flores' last few years in NE, they have favored thickness over length, and tackling has always been very important to BB. I have to imagine that it's important to Flores, too. Greedy is both thin and an inconsistent tackler.

Thanks for taking the time bro. One question. I gather you're not very high on Terrill Hanks?

Appreciate the interest!

Risk/reward for a small-school LB who didn't run well/didn't run - depending on how you want to count it - who has some clear holes in his game just doesn't add up for me.

Seeing Mccoy ahead of bradberry makes me wonder where do you rank those two in terms of prospects compared to Mike pouncey coming out of college??

Think McCoy is better and Bradbury is in his range. McCoy's ability to anchor sets him apart imo. Both are better athletes than Pouncey.

We made history selecting pouncey that high if i remember correctly. Do you see any centers going higher this year than when we took pouncey?

I may not agree with some of your rankings, but I can appreciate someone that ranks players with disregard for what other people think. Nice job

To me that is what makes j off better than the rest. I can't stand ppl who only negatively critique everyone else's work but never show their own.

Well done. I found it interesting that Devin Bush is visiting the Dolphins today.

Appreciate it! Curious to see what they want with Bush. Toward the end of 2018, NE was only playing their sub-250 LB like 1/3 of the time, and Miami already has Baker.

I doubt any Centers go Top 20. One could go in the 20s, though.
