Yeah until you're sure you have a legit QB you should bring in at least one every year. I mean, the team that found Brady and still has Brady still spends more resources on QB than most teams in the league. Its entirely possible they now have the three top QBs in the division.

Tannehill looked pretty decent this preseason outside of the bad INT and the wallace overthrow, but damn it became Chicken Little Central after the INT. Even with the pick, he put together a solid preseason. In the last game, the coaches were obviously testing their running game. They really weren't so concerned about scoring, they mostly wanted to see if they could put together a solid running game. I wouldn't worry about the lack of scoring in this last game.

People tend to forget that the way coaches and players approach a preseason game is completely different than how they approach a regular season game.

I think a lot of people are commenting on this thread without listening to the interview with Cole. He said nothing sensational or that controversial given the place this team is in or given the place any unproven 3rd year quarterback or coach is in.

It's more than the INT. People have also specifically stated it was the near INT on the pass to Sims, the miss on Wallace deep (we all know how much of a hot button that topic is). The scoring thing (which you have addressed) is another important issue. All of this against the league's worst defense in the dress rehearsal game. Its not an overreaction. Tannehill has been mediocre, its entirely possible he remains mediocre this season. We know nothing of Mallett, its entirely possible he could be good. And I remember people were saying the same things about Mallett his rookie year as they are about Garoppolo now.

Do yourself a favor and besides the bonehead interception, watch the other plays that killed the drives with T-hill at QB. They had little to do his play. Your tossing out pretty generic lines in an attempt to support a very weak argument.

Generic? Those are direct examples and more of the "mixed bag" variety we've gotten from him this far.

His most successful QB was drafted by another team in the 2nd round. He traded for that QB. He drafted QBs 7 while at GB. 2 went on to decent careers. Neither played for the Packers. Are you advocating drafting QBs to become future Dolphins's starters. You still haven't given me an example of a team (other than NE) that has done that.

I'm not on either side of the issue. He is our QB this season no matter what, so may as well cheer for him and hope for the best. It's just weird that within 5 posts someone is already antagonizing the board...

This is exactly where I live. As a Jaded fan he could have thrown for 5000 and 35 last year and I'd still be thinking "lets see him do it twice." There's nothing wrong with doubting, but I get the feeling that some posters are more concerned with bieng right, or bieng able to say "I told you so" than anything else, not that they'd ever admit it.

Tannehill is our QB, I haven't doubts, but this is only year 3. This is a new offensives system and a great opportunity for our young QB to grow and improve. While everyone else argues over who can piss the farthest ill focus my efforts on supporting this team and hoping for the best.

What is funny to me is that Tannehill played much better in his rookie year than I thought he would. From there, I thought he had a nice season and improved. Now we come to year three and he has an okay preseason…not great, but not awful and people are talking about cutting bait with him?

Look, this is a huge year and I am on the fence before I double down on him with an Andy Dalton-like deal. However, I do not have to sign him this year to an extension. I simply want him to keep progressing.
