Jason Cole: Dolphins concerned about Tannehill

So many people forget that what Tannehill dealt with in Clabo last year, Moore and Henne were subject to as well. Colombo was as bad a linemen as anyone I had ever seen in a Dolphins uniform, and that is saying something considering I went through Wade Smith & Taylor Whitley amongst others.

Well I guess that astute and well thought out cricism settles it.
It is not a criticism. Its a simple fact. Guy is who he is.

Generic? Those are direct examples and more of the "mixed bag" variety we've gotten from him this far.

Yes, "generic". Now put down the megaphone and take a moment to tune in as I now have to go back and do your homework for you.

1st drive: 12 plays, 75 yards. TOP - 12:55. Stalled at Dallas' 8 after a possible check down to Miller that failed to pick up the first. FG 3 pts

2nd drive: 8 plays, 49 yards. TOP - 3:46. On the drives last play, Tannehill passed for the first down on 3rd and 3 with a 6 yard pass to Dion Sims who fumbled.

3rd drive: 3 plays, 3 yards. TOP -1:00. 1st down; Tannehill avoided a sack by throwing the ball at or around Sims for the in-completion. 2nd down; Miller run for 3 yards. 3rd down; bad throw by Tannehill in the flat to Sims which resulted in an in-completion. Punt

4th drive: 10 plays, 47 yards, TOP - 4:35. Although the drive was extended by an illegal formation penalty on 4th and 3 at the 7:17 mark, Hartline dropped a 5 yard pass that was directly in his hands on 3rd and 3 to force that punt. The play that killed the drive was a 10 yard penalty on Satele after Tannehill had connected with Wallace for a first down on 3rd and 3. Down was replayed at 3 & 10 and Tannehill was forced to throw it away when two Cowboys broke free on a blitz that was not picked up.

5th drive: 10 plays, 69 yards TOP - 4:48. Drive ended in a very bad decision by Tannehill to force it to Hartline and it was intercepted.

There you have it. One drive out of five that ended at the direct fault of Tannehill. One. The 3rd drives' 3-n-out should be placed on the offense as a whole. So now you have a choice; you can either hand in the homework that I completed for you and receive a pretty decent grade, or continue on with the generic excuses like that of, "my dog ate it".

School's in session, kid. :ffic:

He may have crumbled too...just don't act like Tannehill didn't. 82 yards on 27 pass attempts and then three interceptions in a win and you're in game are proof of that. I do know that Tannehill has pretty much 0 ability to avoid sacks despite athleticism, while Matt Moore at least makes a move every one in a while.

Yet Matt Moore seems to be the backup everywhere he goes...keep salivating over Moore tho because he throws a nice deep pass then usually a pick comes shortly thereafter....I think it was last year where he came in when Tannehill got knocked out and he threw a nice deep ball then on the very next play he threw it where only the defender could get it...don't get me wrong tho, I like Matt Moore as a BACKUP

Thanks for showing me your copy/paste skills. Nowhere in there does that veil the fact Tanny threw 1 INT, one near INT, missed Wallace deep (which he's no stranger to), and didn't put up any TD's vs. the worst defense in the league in the dress rehearsal game.

Dunno what school you went to, but yeeesh.

I'm concerned about Tannehill too. He sucked in his last 2 regular season games (OK, pass for the Buffalo game) and was very average in the dress rehearsal game for 2014. That means the last 3 times we were hoping to see a good performances from him it hasn't happened. I hate the "vanilla preseason" excuse too. Genuinely hate it! How come other teams can look sharp running vanilla plays? I've seen that excuse here so much and then watch the same sluggish offense when we're "scheming". I hope Tannehill is the guy we've been waiting for but the jury is still out.

Everywhere? He was a project in Dallas who learned behind Romo and Brad Johnson. He won himself the starting job in Carolina with his exemplary play, but ended up getting hurt as well as the whole Carolina team in shambles being ravaged by injuries within the first 7-8 weeks. They tank and the new regime was installed along with THEIR guy Cam Newton. He comes to Miami and Sparano refuses to give him time with the 1's to challenge Henne. Look how that decision turned out. Then we get a new regime and they draft THEIR guy.

If you want to convey a dishonest argument that he's gotten a fair shake and the ability to be somewhere where he could thrive under consistency then I don't know what to tell you. In fact you're being a hypocrite because that's exactly what you want for Tanny.

Yes, the whole criticism of Matt Moore throwing an interception in a game where Tannehill threw for 82 yards and only 10 completions on 27 pass attempts gets me every time.

I see we got ourselves an internet tough guy.

Can't get the answer to your question unless he starts. That's not the case right now as the keys were handed to Tanny his rookie year. So I don't see the point of your comment. He beat winning teams while in Carolina, but you'll probably tell me it was in meaningless games.

Moore started 12 games in 2011 for Miami, he got zero wins over teams with winning records.

If you zero in on that game, the difference is Moore overcame his mistakes to lead sustained drives put TD's on the board. That's the difference between the two guys, because both nearly had two INT's.

Guess u never saw the frozen Tundra Steelers game last season (against first team ballers, not future UPS drivers) . :idk:

Now you're just playing games. He had them with Carolina. He only had two opps with Miami.

I saw them. I praised him for it. I'm talking about this dress rehearsal game vs. the league's worst defense. Him not putting points on the board and failing once again to hit Wallace deep just compounded the worries. That's why you see all of this talk.
