Jason Cole of Yahoo: No Doubt Miami takes Tannehill

Cutler was a loser in College playing for Vanderbilt. Remember him. Hes not too shabby in the NFL. You dont have much of a point. Eli played for ole Miss and the gators. That college was not a dynasty. Flacco is from Delaware. I am sure he got his butt kicked olaying DIV 1 schools.

Are you really comparing Tannehill to any of the said QB's? Really? You know those QB's started MULTIPLE years and left their schools with many records right? You do understand Flacco, coming into the league, wasn't considered a 'developement'? To avoid further apples to oranges comparisions, do some homework.

LOL Mike Golic and Warren Sapp both starred in the NFL and they amongst the worst "media" members.

Yeah and they both have the combined IQ of a melting popsicle. What's your point? I'm not saying that only guys that have played the game make good NFL reporters, but those three I mentioned act like they've played the game with their holier-than-thou attitudes and disrepectful comments towards certain teams, IMO. Just like Jim Rome. Effing douches all around.

I understand what has happened with past lineman, however you need to protect who ever is back there trying to throw or hand the ball off. We shall see how we are feeling after the draft with the picks that were made.

I just think that there will be more pressure for Tannehill to play sooner than later if the Dolphins draft him, and I hate to see him get rushed before he is ready to start.
if tannehill is as good an athlete as we think he is, he won't need a good line, he'll need good weapons. he'll be able to escape in situations where other qbs wouldn't roll and move the pocket and let the kid do what he does... on the run.

They were veterans, but were not the franchise's future QB. Moore could be looked the same way. He obviously does not have the experience that Warner had, but he can carry the load in the short term. If not Moore, maybe Garrard?

No way should Moore or Garrard be put in the same class as Warner and Brees. Its night and day.

Good point Bill. We are still going to need a very good line so our RB's can get in a grove to take pressure off of Tannehill. I just think it will take him a year or two to make it all come together.

Let me say this, I want Tannehill but I would be okay with passing on him for Weeden. If you miss on Weeden well then ****, the draft would be a failure.

You ican't wait until 2013 for a QB.

We're almost alone here and at the other site, FFIC. Very few of us seem to get the idea of building the foundation before you put up the house.

I am not comparing. I am stating that you dont have to be one of the top winning QBs in college to prove you will be better in the NFL. I only compare Tannehill against the rest of the draft and the poor state of our phins situation. Its you who are comparing Him to other NFL QBs which cant be done till 2 or 3 years from now.

I'm excited to see what Pouncey and Thomas can bring to the run game in their second years. If the line can bring it together sooner rather than later and the run game can blossom a bit with Thomas stepping up and Reggie continuing to do what he did last year, that could really take a lot of pressure off any young QB. I hope the plan is for Tannehill to be drafted at 8, but I also hope they let him sit the WHOLE year for learning and developing an NFL arm and mind.

I rather make the OLine off the hook and draft Weeden and let him compete with Moore as the running game will be able to take a lot of pressure off of either QB. I still think Tannehil is a year if not two away from starting. We shall see soon enough bro.

Dear Mr Cole,

You claim that the Browns are just messing with Mr Ireland's head but fail to consider the possibility that just maybe Mr Ireland is merely putting out the message he wants Tannehill. The sad truth is you have no more idea then I do what happens with the 8 pick. I am not a fan of Mr Ireland but I will give him credit for being crafty. After all, Matt Flynn was never seriously considered as the future of the Dolphins but I seem to recall you were convinced Flynn was the Dolphins guy. This is just another pair of **** stained skivvies your throwing against the wall in hopes they stick.

Regards,

P.S. I think the Dolphins may be going BPA at 8. Just my opinion.

i really hope we do draft him at 8 .he is the 3rd best QB in the draft and luck is suspose to be the next sure thing.so why not take a shot on the 3rd best guy at a position we need

Hes the third qb in what, until about a month ago, was seen as a two qb draft. Now that the first two spots are solidified, its about that time to start hyping the next guy in line. We,d still be talking about RG3 if the trade for him wasnt already completed.

Im not saying Tannenhill wont be great, in fact i have no idea. I didnt catch any of his 19 games. But im not ok with just picking a guy cause hes next on the list. The third qb in the draft does not inherently have top 10 value.

Brees was considered a bust at the time, which is why the Chargers were targeting QB with that 1st pick. They wanted Eli, but he refused to play for them. Brees surprised everyone by playing exceptionally well during River's rookie season. He hasn't looked back since then

Sorry but that's simply not true. Eli was easily the consensus #1 pick just like Luck is this draft, so San Diego would have taken him anyways, especially after he came out and said he didn't want to play in San Diego. The Chargers GM, AJ Smith, is NOT a guy who likes to be challenged.

Brees' bad year in 2003 was why SD took Rivers as part of the trade package to send Eli to the Gnats, so you are correct about Brees bad play coming into play, though. Just not with the decision to take Manning.
