Jason Cole: Set up to FAIL

You know...winning..would stop alot of this silly sh**.

I'd like to know more about the "power structure" the media keeps saying is a hindrance to hiring a new GM. If they know it's such an issue then why don't they just tell us so we can decide for ourselves?

Ahh here we go. It is the media's fault. Not the lack of leadership from the owner. Not the insistence of having to keep Joe. Not the looming Dawn Aponte floating around. Yep...Manod is killing our chances.

How about holding the owner accountable?

There's no doubt there's uncertainty inside the Dolphins organization right now. However, I don't understand why the media likes to pretend that the Dolphins are the only team in the league with these issues. There's a lot of other teams out there that have been in much more unstable situations, with worse rosters, serious cap problems, and no talent at the QB position. And still, they have gotten their guy.

I guess we'll see what happens, but I still think we have enough positives on our team to attract good candidates for the GM position. Then again, Ross doesn't have the best track record when it comes to handling things properly.

The Fins(and truly Ross) really need to get out in front of the issue and clarify how they want to do things in some sort of public statement.

Ross articulates himself so well. That will be effective. Lol.

Hello...Lovie was jut hired. Fresh deal. Joe is a lame duck. Come on you are better.

It still is a sitting coach
Your big narrative is clean house
The Bucs house isn't clean there is a coach sitting there.

The lifecycle of a coach is much shorter than a GM.

Lame duck is meaningless because Philbin goes next year and GM picks a new guy. Lame duck, if anything should improve the chances.

YOU ARE BETTER THAN THAT.

But know you are like a broken record now.
No matter what the story everything in your mind is twisted somehow to attack Philbin.

Ross concerns me. I don't think we should be so quick to dismiss how our franchise is viewed because of this guy. My opinion of him has done a 180 after hearing about how the ppl under him were functioning at a high school level right under his nose. If I had someone like Aponte coming to me and basically snitching to me all the time my personal opinion of that person would be degraded significantly. The thing is, if Ross asked her to play the snitch then we have larger issues than we can ever imagine.

The only comforting thought I have is that the NFL is populated with a lot of bad and weird owners. If you are looking to be a GM or a HC dealing with the odd NFL owner seems to be par for the course.

This is a narrative issue and it is getting a life of its own.

I really dont see how having Philbin is making the Dolphins GM search unique.
It looks to me that the Bucs are doing the EXACT same thing.

Of course not a peep about the Bucs but the Dolphins are a dysfunctional mess.

Ireland aired the dirty laundry to his buddy Mando and the story has a life of its own now.

Right cause Lovie Smith was hired before they had a GM in place. Andy Reid was also hired in KC before they hired John Dorsey to be the GM...but those are small markets. Miami is the 5th largest media market so sensationalization sells better.

Part of the problem with these rediculous media stories is that the organization doesn't address the issues.

could you image Dallas letting this **** slide?

Or The Jets even?

Indianapolis?

A first xlass organization would dictate the flow of information to a certain extent.

Seems to be that Ross is so gun shy now, he won't do anything.

Holy ****...the Bucs did clean house. Are you serious? They cleaned house and started with a coach selection. They are letting Smith make the roster calls.

Terrible comparison

Now you understand why Saban hates media and wants to control them.

I love how "true" fans back Ross, Aponte and Joe and think things are fine because Ireland is fired.

Hayden look your opinion on this is blurred do to your distaste for Philbin. Look as a "true fan" I don't have the answers I am not qualified to make those type of decisions but everyone is welcome to an opinion regardless I will support my team. Look Coles "multiple sources" could be 2 random people who expressed their opinions it doesn't make RIGHT. For example I am not sold on Gruden as a HC I can be source for someone that doesn't agree with Gruden hire haha!Like another poster stated a much more reliable reporter in Darlington has said it is coveted. Armando is being Armando, look I don't recall him ever breaking any Fins news (he may have & I missed it) so I am not so certain how good his "sources" are. In fact it seems anyone with quality sources with news about the Fins are Darlington & Schefter & at times B Jackson But that's it from our own beat writers.

I really do not care. Whoever does not want to work with Aponte and Philbin can take a hike.

What exactly do you want him to do? You want him to come out say "oh well lets just can everybody and i will get out of the way?"
I don't think he is in the way be any means he is setting up his team the way he see fits.
