Jim Turner fired

lol Peter King likes Philbin's 'statement'

You need to speak, Joe Philbin.

RT @JohnnyBeres: just released a statement, Peter >> That is not speaking. That is a vanilla piece of dung.

He was hired as an assistant now he's been promoted. Slow down and gather the news before jumping on Philbin.

Hey man, Its not hard to see what is going on here. He was hired as an assistant shortly after the season and then promoted before the combine? Im glad Turner is gone but my point is still 100% vaild. What did he do to get promoted? Although he should be our OL coach, he was promoted because Turner was fired.

By all appearances, by way of a pink slip, we just upgraded the coaching function :idk:

My point exactly! The correct turn of events would have been for Philbin to fire Turner immediately after the season, then hire a new OL coach. Not pull a Steven Ross

Not really. Benton was hired as the assistant offensive line coach, he just simply gets elevated now.

I wish I could get hired as a VP, and then after doing nothing, getting immediately promoted to treasurer because the Treasurer was fired! God Damn thats working the ladder.

Any word on the boy wonder son in law QB coach ? He wasn't involved but since we are cutting liabilities he's next on my list.

I couldn't care about the Martin nonsense but he was just an abysmal offensive line coach

Philbin loved him though and he would not of been fired if not for the Martin saga. With all the negatives that came out of it, a guess this is a small positive. We got rid of a horrendous coach who philbin had way too much loyalty with.

Sounds like the same matra as the Sherman firing.

Haven't heard anything, probably won't unless it's speculation from the media.

We shouldnt hold our breath for the truth if media begins to speculate

Word is Jim Turner was visiting his mother in the nursing home when the Dolphins called to fire him. Heard the Dolphins made him put the call on speaker phone so everyone in the nursing home could hear them fire him. Then Philbin snuck up behind Turner and pantsed him.

Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin (9:45am) & general manager Dennis Hickey (2:15pm) will each address the media tomorrow at the combine

Ok so whats left to take care of in this thing?

The decision to fire Jim Turner and Kevin O'Neill was made by Steve Ross, by the way.Ross will meet with Jonathan Martin soon.

The decision to fire Mike Sherman was also Ross', let's not forget. And Philbin nearly resigned over it.

Honestly I've read nothing or seen nothing that indicates to me that Philbin is on top of any of this **** or ready to make decisions about any of it. He's loyal, he wants to keep everyone.

Anyway, firing Turner is a good thing. I'm happy about it. Now if only they would fire Kevin Coyle. As I said many times he was actually the worse of the two coordinators.

Peter King is ripping Philbin on twitter. Called his statement "a vanilla piece of dung".

Might as well have been talking about Philbin in general, to be honest.

And of course no comment from Philbin. Is he a leader? Everything so far is leaning toward no, he is not. Hopefully he learns how to lead and shows as such in the upcoming days

You might want to re-read the info above before you talk **** for no reason.
