Jonnu Smith Trade?

The secondary wasn't terrible last year with one of the worst safety pairings in the league and Fuller missed a ton of games at CB. Once Ramsey goes it will definitely be poorer but I'm hoping we get better safety play at least and hopefully a fully healthy Chubb and Phillips will help out as well.

Also don't think it's a coincidence that they wanted to change the culture of the team and all 4 starting secondary players will shortly be off the roster. I'm beginning to think that may have been a toxic room.
It was. Ramsey was a culture killer and really hurt thr team overall. His exit for nothing is a win but I'd play hardball if I was Grier and try and get a player that can help us this season. Why can't we swap Ramsey for a starting CB.

Bmws are trash

For folks that want to look like they have money but don’t

So let me get this straight. People were upset we just redid contracts for no reason for other guys. Miami finally says no to a player and fans are upset?

Yes. They’re not similar situations. Notice you said “for no reason”? That’s called a qualifier.

Jonnu Smith signed a prove it deal with Miami and he ****ing proved it giving us the best TE we’ve gotten from a TE - ever, if you are a statistics guy.

Why are you under the impression Jonnu Smiths situation is similar to the other two, who you yourself implied had bad years.

Look forward to your reply!

I see what you are saying. Those guys who got contracts had good years too. Ramsey and hill in 2023. Then we adjusted the contract in 2024 and then they struggled and many on here said it was mistake to adjust these contracts. So the front office is finally saying no. I thought more fans would be happy. Actually the last few days there seems to be alot of fans who are saying they shouldn’t adjust Jonu contract. So Maybe it was just the usual complainers saying Miami front office was wrong again.

No kidding but he is the biggest part of the puzzle and we are assuming good O Line play in this discussion. If the defense was so bad ala the Bengals this year, the team didn't make the playoffs despite an amazing year by Tua like we just saw with Burrow, he did likely accomplish a top 5 offense, 28-30 a game and compete legitimately against good teams' defenses. I think folks would take that into account and I think you get the point I was making. A completion % title isn't getting it done. Assuming a good O-line, Tua and the offense need to be meaningfully good, aka, an offense that can take you to a division title and deep into the playoffs given "solid" play in the other two phases.

To tie this back to Jonnu, I think Tua will have better chances to do the above with him and I'd rather not see him traded.
The Bengals won one more game than the Dolphins. And were something like 1-8 against playoff teams. They averaged 27 ppg on the season. With Tua, the Dolphins averaged 25 ppg.

I don’t think anyone wants to see Jonnu traded… including the Dolphins.

That’s why I hate the term “generational talent” which some brothers here were calling him.
Some guys do this every single year... they fixate on this or that player (oddly enough, it's usually a TE or a Safety) and just go crazy... we've GOT to take him; he's gonna be an all-pro...

over and over and over... and then they are not deterred in subsequent years when their past crush becomes... Pitts.

Then there are the guys on the flip side of that who think every single thing that our front office does is doomed to failure.... just over and over and over.

These guys make me tired.

No matter how many videos and advanced charts showing he doesn't throw it to the first read everytime, its still hard to comprehend to some.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Isn't the QB supposed to throw to the first read if it's open? Isn't that the design of the play call?

Tua got injured, came back, but was not 100%. Tua has issues staying healthy, but when he is healthy, he seems to quietly get as much or more success with less around him then Burrow, and Hurts.

Tua's career is very shaky right now, but not because he can not match top QBs in games, but because he can't stay healthy, and seems to have a tough guy mindset, instead of being smart and sliding early.

Whether people see how effective he can be in games, or choose to cover their eyes to who Tua is as a QB does not change the fact Tua is an injury prone top 10 (Possibly 5) QB that needs to protect himself better or watch his career end.
Thats the FACTS, Jack! - LOL
