JRS/Hard Rock Stadium Renovations, Phase II....

Junc, he is commenting about his team, and the new name of it's Stadium, if your opinion is that you hate Corporate Stadium names, then rather then tell everyone here, just go to a Jets site and tell everyone you hate the Met Life Stadium name.

Commenting on a teams Stadium name when it's not your team is pretty annoying, especially when that team is one of your biggest rival. There is nothing innocent about making a comment (good or bad) for your team's bitterest rival, hopefully you see this. or starting to see this.
I am a member of this site, I can make any comment I want as long as I am not bashing other posters or changing the topic. it was related to this thread which I have been a big contributor and my comment had nothing to do w/. the Miami Dolphins. I hate ALL corporate Stadium names which was why I didn't stay anything specifically about the dolphins Stadium but thank you for your input.

He can't. Most Jets sites have banned him. Hard to imagine isn't it?

As for the stadium name I certainly like it better than the ones we have had in the past. Dolphins stadium would be preferred but it is certainly better than Landshark or Sun Life or Pro Player.

That is yet another lie. why are mods attacking posters? especially posters that contribute?

The name is a perfect fit for the stadium. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is a stone throw away and for quite a while iconic in Hollywood and the South Florida area. When you drive to the stadium you can see it from the Turnpike.

It is absolutely perfect especially since the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is liked and a destination for locals as well - 15 restaurants, 10 bars and nightclubs, lagoon style pool in tropical settings, comedy club, casino, club, shops and all you have to do is fall out of the hotel entrance or just out of the elevator. I can foresee some sweet package deals. It definitely beats the Shula Hotel.
It's a spit away from FLL and another stone throw from the stadium.

I am absolutely delighted that a company who is so well represented down here (incl the Hard Rock Cafe in Miami) is our stadium sponsor. Can't be a better fit.
And it beats another crap company from NY.

I just hope the phrase "the rock" doesn't grab hold.

This post was brought to you by Hard Rock Miami

Seriously tho, I do like the name- but 'Can't to play The Jets at The Rock' sounds even better

Like the song or not, but, ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE is taylor made for a stadium named "rock" and a team that sits in ground zero of hurricane season. Plus, arn't the HURRICANES playing their games at THE ROCK now?

DELIVERING THE GOODS by Judas Priest would be hi on my personal fav list.

Hard Rock has an entire catalogue of Rock music they play in and around their hotels & casinos. Let them play some of that around the stadium!

In fact, they can recreate some of the vibe/aura you get at Hard Rock Hollywood, or even a vegas casino, it would certainly be conducive to a pumped up atmosphere.

I don't know...Landshark isn''t awful

So, let me get this straight.

Stadium upgrade cost $400 Million.
Ross paid for it and hired his own construction company to oversee things.
Now, Hard Rock pays Ross $250 Million for naming rights.

Not a bad deal, right there!

so don't comment then

Boy, was that Landshark and Jimmy Buffett partnership a flop..

This live performance at the press conference gives me douchechills.

I like Jimmy Buffett and his Margaritaville restaurants, but this whole thing with the Dolphins seemed so forced and weird. Even this song where he just crowbarred the Dolphins in it..

I don't know...Landshark isn''t awful

It was awful. The beer is crap and the lingering effect is that stupid 'fins to the right, fins to the left' chant which is related to SHARKS (!!!) not Dolphins. Since that Landshark Stadium one-year deal we have had no winning season. 7 years. The longest no-winning season streak in the Dolphins history. I hope we break that streak now.
a) remodel done - check
b) get rid of 'fins up' crap - TBD
c) get rid of stadium announcer Kenny Walker - TBA

Kenny Walker is the worst there is. There is literally no series on O or D where he is wrong at least one time on the downs and the distances. It becomes a common mockery when we have a (i.e.) a 2nd and 5 everybody is screaming around me "3RD AND 8" and when he gets it right we applaud. He is also part of the curse: on the job since 2000 pretty much or entire decade and a half of futility.

I like the name Hard Rock Stadium. Surprised NFL allowed a casino to get naming rights, but I guess the fact its a restaurant as well helped.

So does that mean the stadium will get a Hard Rock restaurant?

Considered going into one of those once, saw the price list and came to my senses

I would like one of these though
