I feel deeply saddened right now. Junior Seau was one of my favorite linebackers of all time and was so happy to see him join Miami when he did. Such a class act of a player and known around San Diego for being such a great human being. Thank you for the memories old friend and may your finally rest in peace.

Reports are that he shot himself in the chest. If true, people will undoubtedly think that he did so in order to preserve his brain for testing to see if concussions led to his depression. With this news, you can see why Goodell came down so hard on the bounty players. These hits are serious business.

A sad day for football. He was a player anyone could admire, even if he was an opponent. I remember when he signed with the Patriots, I wasn't mad because he deserved a shot at the ring.
I am sure his family loved him, and it is not easy to get people in need of help.. the help they need. The family will be grieving for a long time.

At some point I was beginning to think that Roger Goodell was out there to be a marksman, but he is right about ensuring the safety of players. Up until you have a loved one who you love so much get on a football field then you will truly appreciate what safety really means in a sport like football.
The game is violent enough, especially the position that he played. Goodell made the right call on the bounty hits.
Hopefully the family will allow his brain for study.
