Just watched game, DON'T UNDERSTAND the h

The way people on here/Armando were talking about Tannehill you would think he was absolutely awful & unless my eyes are way he was solid.

- 1st drive drove right down the field on Dallas 1st string D (great pass to Clay). In red zone ran twice & on 3rd down checked down Miller b/c the primary was Clay who was covered. Smart move not force it (I know he did it later in game)
- 2nd drive was driving down the field again (in FG range) got a 1st down & Simms fumbled it NOT Tannheills fault.
- 3rd drive 1st play escaped a sack & threw it away & threw it a little behind him good coverage was 7-8 for 51yds prior to that throw.
- 4th drive ran twice & on third down Hartline dropped it again Not Tanehills fault. Get it back from penalty on punt. Nice throw down the middle to Hartline. Missed Wallace deep & he admitted his fault but it looked like Wallace didn't locate it. After thanks to a penalty lost 1st down then on 3rd down 2 Cowboys came unblocked couldn't do anything AGAIN NOT Tannehills fault.

1st half thought he played well, had a drop, penalty, & OL missed blocking assignments which hurt. MOVED the ball & ran we'll all half except for one drive. True only 3 points to show.

1st drive 2nd half:
2 nice throws to Wallace & Hartline on 3rd & 1 NO ONE open. Another good connection to Wallace. Made a mistake forcing to Hartline & he even admitted that he had Landry open so the face that he saw that is good to know so next time hopefully he won't make that mistake.

Can you please delete other thread, I apologize hit submit before title was complete.

It's simple FInheaven logic :

Tannehill throws a touchdown = He's a god!

Tannehill throws an interception = He's a bust!

Thank you, Rhoadsy13. Just put up a similar post, but it was unfortunately in the Matt Moore cheerleading section.

1st drive: 12 plays, 75 yards. TOP - 12:55. Stalled at Dallas' 8 after a possible check down to Miller that failed to pick up the first. FG 3 pts

2nd drive: 8 plays, 49 yards. TOP - 3:46. On the drives last play, Tannehill passed for the first down on 3rd and 3 with a 6 yard pass to Dion Sims who fumbled.

3rd drive: 3 plays, 3 yards. TOP -1:00. 1st down; Tannehill avoided a sack by throwing the ball at or around Sims for the in-completion. 2nd down; Miller run for 3 yards. 3rd down; bad throw by Tannehill in the flat to Sims which resulted in an in-completion. Punt

4th drive: 10 plays, 47 yards, TOP - 4:35. Although the drive was extended by an illegal formation penalty on 4th and 3 at the 7:17 mark, Hartline dropped a 5 yard pass that was directly in his hands on 3rd and 3 to force that punt. The play that killed the drive was a 10 yard penalty on Satele after Tannehill had connected with Wallace for a first down on 3rd and 3. Down was replayed at 3 & 10 and Tannehill was forced to throw it away when two Cowboys broke free on a blitz that was not picked up.

5th drive: 10 plays, 69 yards TOP - 4:48. Drive ended in a very bad decision by Tannehill to force it to Hartline and it was intercepted.

I didn't think he played bad, but many were wanting to see some magic. The problem is you can't just turn on magic like a light switch, it just has to happen. Ryan didn't play bad and didn't play great by making amazing throws. Let's hope he is waiting for the pats to really show off how far he's came.

Personally I don't think Ryan is yet a GREAT QB but he isn't a bad one either. This year has to be his best by far or there will be some tough decisions to be made this coming offseason.

I thought the same thing...he played pretty well. He had 2 solid drives stalled by a fumble by Sims and another dropped 3rd down pass by Hartline. The pass to Wallace was both of their faults, but I am going to put more on Tanne as it didn't need a perfect pass because he was wide open...he could have just put it on him instead of trying to lead him. The int was a bad decision, no debating that plus Landry was open. However though the throw should have never happen, I don't think the location was as bad as it turned out. Hartline stops and looks like he is about to curl in a post up in that spot...Ryan throws it to that spot and Hartline ends up juking from the spot and trying to go longer. It should have never been thrown though, and his only glaring mistake of the night.

Moore while making a couple of really good throws (mainly the deep route and the seam route at the end) also had some horrible throws in which he stared down the receiver and almost threw a pick 6 and the pick 6 it self. He also could have got Landry killed in the middle of the field where Landry made an awesome catch jumping and catching the ball behind him. All of this was against 2nd and 3rd stringers.

On top of that we won which never satisfies the constant groaning on here.

I just cant wait to play with a full deck every week with no 2nd/3rd stringers involved on a reg. basis.

One really bad play can make you suck in a hurry.

One miss on long ball just sets off media on a mission to actually have something to write about.

just have visions of Wallace, Gibson, Hartline, Mathews, and Landry forcing teams to cover with limited CB ablility.

Add Knowshawn with competent Oline and you have more consistency. Just get rid of the blankie Ryan!

Yeah, I agree. Some posters are just dolphin haters and spend their time on this site and don't know a lick about football. The guy threw one pick and preseason and now he sucks. I'm convinced some of these posters are still living in their parents basement with too much time on their hands. This is his 3rd season, the jury is out until January. Get a grip people

He wasn't good. He had a sub 60 passer rating, which he has done 8 times in his career and we lost all 8 of them. The bottom line is that was a losing performance. No need to hit the panic button over a preseason game but the fact of the matter is he wasn't good.

I also think that they were absolutely working on the running game, where he would have thrown in real games.....and he would have had some QB keepers in real games for some LONG gains!

Passer rating is a bullchit stat that means absolutely nothing. It's what a QB does in the 4th quarter that matters
