Keys to stopping the Green Bay passing attack?

The Key? Keep them off the field. AKA :

That block by Landry is ****in' awesome.

Listening to Poppinga on WQAM and he had some good thoughts. He says the key to frustrating some of these elite QBs like Rodgers is keep the score low for the first quarter or half, it messes with them mentally and they may force some things. I guess it would be not unlike the PGA changing a par 5 to a par 4, the score is the same but the "bogey" tends to rattle some of them.

He says to never give him a single high safety look, they all just look at each other and grin whenever teams try to load the box.

Their defense is a lot like ours, they give up a ton of yards but stiffen in the red zone. This could be our key to victory, we're actually pretty good in the redzone, we just need to be smart enough to take those "easy" yards.

My favorite thought was he said Aaron Rodgers is the Packers best run defender. Their run defense on its own is not good but if Rodgers can force teams to play catch up that won't matter. That is exactly the philosophy we're trying to employ, but for some reason that strategy hasn't been working out so well for us.

No doubt we must keep a lead or at least close to run the ball. I expect 200 rushing yards especially if knowshon and Pouncy play. I would be very disappointed if we can't do that to the worst run defense in the NFL. As for stopping Rodgers I think its all about pressure. Dont give him a clean pocket. Play tight coverage so he has no quick open WRs and lay him on the ground every play

The best defense is a good offense.

We need to score early. If we can get up 2 TDs early on it will make them one dimensional. No 3 and outs, keep their D sweating and keep Rodgers ass on the bench. (Like we did to Manning back in 2009, where we held his time of possession to under 15 minutes. Unfortunately, we still lost that one, ugh.)

On defense we need to do a good job of mixing up and disguising our coverages. Keep him guessing. Obviously we want to generate a lot of pressure, make him hurry throws.

Don't discount their rushing attack, Lacy is a top-tier RB. If we fall behind Rodgers and Lacy will make our lives miserable.

We also need very good special teams play. Make every GB offensive drive take more than 80 yards, if we give them a short field they will capitalize on it. On the other hand, if we can pin GB back to their own endzone often enough, we will likely win the turnover battle.

Defense is GB's biggest flaw, we need to exploit it if we are going to win.

I didn't like the formations they chose to show the differences in coverage. In the first case, they were going against a 3 WR set. In the Chicago case, they were showing a double-TE formation. They are comparing apples to oranges...

That was kind of the point in a sense as the Packers ran out of the 11 formation and passed out of the 21. I'm not sure what to tell besides A) you need to read the article over, B) maybe it's just over your head or C) you are just being critical to a fault (which seems to be your schtick around here). Either way I find it amusing that you would bash the analysis and comments of an 8 year veteran Super Bowl Champion LB. It also alerts me to keep your criticisms on this board in perspective.

My point was not that an analysis was bad, it was choice of examples was not good. A better choice would have been to show the 3WR sets with different defensive formation. And with answers like yours...people wonder why I am "terse"...At one time I tried to be respective of others here...but asshats like yourself changed that quickly....

D-Line has to impose it's will from the opening bell. We've got the horses to really dominate and it's time for big games by Wake and Vernon. Starks, Odrick and Mitchell have to stop Lacy and when possible generate pressure right up the middle into Roger's face. Having Misi and Jones back gives us a huge lift and our secret weapon McCain is back.
