Knowshon Moreno visits Dolphins/Leaves without deal

Where is everyone coming up with Moreno's VG pass blocking? It's just not true.

gotta love those wild assumptions, for someone who treats pff like a bible im surprised you think this

Where is everyone coming up with Moreno's VG pass blocking? It's just not true.

PFF has him rated as the #8 pass blocking RB while Miller and Thomas are in the 30's. I don't have a subscription but this is what Jackson wrote. Where are you seeing information that he won't be an upgrade at pass blocking?

one thing that makes perfect sense with him.. he fits Lazor's system well. He is no Shady McCoy, but he was in an offense that clicked when the RB was getting balls out of the back field. I would like it if it is a 1-2 yr show me deal, with 6 mil guaranteed in the contract

yeah i think that's a very good point...definitely see the fit for the uva stuff he ran at least

### PFF ranked Moreno eighth among all running backs as a pass blocker. For perspective, Miller was 33rd, Thomas 34th.
### Moreno had only one fumble in 241 rushing attempts last season. He’s young (26) and coming off his best season, albeit in an offense loaded with talent. He’s a more proven back than Thomas and a Miller/Moreno tandem would be serviceable at the very least and potentially much better than that, depending on blocking and other issues.

That rank was as a pass receiver, not blocker. If you go to signature stats, you will find Miller at #14, and Moreno at #24 when it comes to pass blocking.

He does fit the offense, but I think 6 mil guaranteed is way to steep. I was thinking of a 2 year $5-6 mil contract with only $2.5-3 mil guaranteed.

So Barry Jackson needs to learn how to read a spread sheet? LOL!

Without seeing Moreno play much and knowing now how he performed based on his stats he may not be an upgrade at all. I wonder how much of Manning's statuesque mobility in the pocket contributed to the amount of pressures allowed. (Thinking aloud, probably just as much as his quick release negated) Just a question, how many sacks did Moreno allow?

He is a product of denvers system and olinemenwho are much better than miamis, and need I mention denvers qb and his audibles he calls at the line? He put him in the best positions to run or catch passes. I will guve you he is a much better blockers than any rb on miamia team, but as a rb. No way. They should have signed Tate if they wanted to go the FA route!

PFF, NFL rankings, the fact that he was trusted to protect the most valuable man in the NFL, and did a good job....what is your basis for it "not being true?"

No bias, just fact. Barry misread the PFF columns for pass blocking as receiving, and I'm sure will post the correction.

or you could just be wrong and the rb successfully blocking for Manning is actually quite a good blocker.

You know, one or the other lol

Ive seen several comments about Moreno fumbling...he has 2 fumbles over the past two years in about 380 carries. Not really seeing a big problem there.

I also dont get the need for a "big back"....we need a good back in general. If you think that Blount is better...then fine make that argument..thats plausible and defensible. But cmon...Shady McCoy, Jammal Charles, etc are not "big backs".

Not to mention Moreno is 220 lbs...its not like hes a little scat back

Moreno had 0 fumbles lost last year. That's fairly awesome.

Not saying that Moreno is bad, just not better than Miller but, better than DT.

also looking at the stats, Moreno had 3 fumbles in 3 years, Blount had 3 last season

It's difficult to fumble the ball when you are on the sideline. Moreno has missed 17 games over the past 3 seasons.

If he's cheap it wouldn't be horrible to replace DT with him. He is not the go to RB we need. I'm sorry but Lamar Miller would have put up at least those numbers in Denver last year. Peyton, good OL, so many receiving threats keeping the box from being stacked.....a RB's dream.

I don't get the constant comparisons to Thomas, Moreno is a big improvement against any RB on our roster including Miller (who would also be hammered on here if he had gone to a different university)

What a load of crap.
