Knowshon Moreno visits Dolphins/Leaves without deal

So Barry Jackson needs to learn how to read a spread sheet? LOL!

Without seeing Moreno play much and knowing now how he performed based on his stats he may not be an upgrade at all. I wonder how much of Manning's statuesque mobility in the pocket contributed to the amount of pressures allowed. (Thinking aloud, probably just as much as his quick release negated) Just a question, how many sacks did Moreno allow?

It was a simple mistake, and Barry is normally on the money. Moreno only gave up 1 sack, 3 hits and 3 hurries on 80 pass blocks with Peyton. Miller gave up 2 sacks, 1 hit, and 4 hurries on 127 pass blocks with Tannehill. So, Miller was in pass protect over 50% more with the same pressures.

That's interesting. Both Miller and Moreno had seven negative plays in pass protection but Miller did it in 47 more pass protection plays. I can't really be surprise by fans reaction to Miller's ability in pass protection because of all the sacks the team gave up last year. Every bad play was magnified.

I'll eat crow if I deserve it but I am not changing my opinion on Clayton. He was terrible reporting the Manning to Miami situation and has been on many times since then when reporting on the Dolphins. So Clayton was right about Moreno wanting to visit the Dolphins. Big deal, I stand by my opinions, Clayton sucks and is past his prime.

You are a primary example of someone who talks without any perspective. Miami needs a running back, and Moreno is one of the best on the FA market, so why was Clayton so off by stating that to be a good match? Oh, and he was right to.

So was your comment. :rolleyes2:

Miller has been overrated on this forum from the day he was drafted because of where he went to college, its a fact. Until the bubble was well and truely burst last season there was a horrendous amount of hype about him on here.

Our fans crack me up. We have a 1,000 yard back who wants to come play for our team, who also has about 500 yards receiving, and all our fans can do is bitch about him. LOL!

couldnt agree more fin-atic, moreno would be a very good addition to the offense and a big upgrade over miller. miller is another mediocre, over hyped speed guy who pretty much does nothing on the field. he sure looked good running the 40 though.

Just barely 1,000...a little over 4 yds a carry. decent pass blocker but not great. durability a concern as well.

if we can get him for 3 mil a year i'd take it, but he's not going to be much of an upgrade to our offense alone. he was a product of a peyton manning offense, and even there he wasn't amazing. i watched almost every one of his snaps last year as he was on my fantasy team. he was super solid and consistent, but never once wowed me with his ability.

It's common for many fans, and not just ours. Most fans base opinions on what they watch and highlights/lowlights with any bad play far exceeding any good play, and one play can make a player SUCK, with the other 60 or so not mattering.

My favorite example was here in the first preseason game (I think). Miller fumbled, and got RIPPED TO SHREDS. He sucks, need to cut him, etc, etc. It was comical, and got even funnier when the replay showed that it was not his fault. LOL

Its hard for miller to give up sacks hits and hurries when the O-Line was already doing it every play.

Not to say he would through, im a miller supporter but he will be most effective in a 2 back system with a strong other back.

I don't think Miller will ever be the man as a RB, but I also think getting Moreno would be doubling down on our RB mistakes. I doubt that there is a long term solution to our RB problems in the draft or in FA this year, although I do like Hyde and a few others. So if we need to make a move at RB, and we do, I'd rather it be on an unproven player that is cheap than a proven to be mediocre at best player that will be expensive.

You are right, our fans crack me up as well. Especially when they have this "grass is greener" attitude. If Moreno was on the Dolphins, prior to last season, he would have been getting ripped to shreds for not only his ineffective play but all the time he missed due to injuries. Much like the way Daniel Thomas gets ripped.

Do I think Moreno is an upgrade to Thomas, yes I do. If Lazor runs a similar offense to what he ran at Virginia, sprinkled with what the Eagles ran last season, Moreno's skillset would better a fit.
