LaCanfora: Ross headed to London and then China

Ross can't win! If he acted like jerry Jones, you all would tell him to leave the team to to the football people!

Yes he can win. There is a medium between Jerry Jones and how Ross is acting…it is where Bob Kraft is. It is where the Mara family is. It is where Steve Bisciotti is. It is where the Rooney's are.

Demand excellence from him folks. Don't excuse.

That is awesome, but it does nothing for me as a fan of his team. When the Fins are under .500 next year and I am being heckled by Pats fans it does not help me to retort how rich Steve Ross happens to be.

You really let it get to you like that?

It's just a game man

Ummm, yep. When I make my sacrifices of time, money and energy is it reasonable to ask that the team's owner actually acts a leader for the franchise?

I hate JLC. However, do you think he just made up that idea that some of the candidates do like the process. I think that is very true.

Now, some might not like the process because they know they are not getting the job and have an out by trashing the process. However, that is also on the Fins search committee. They should know what they are looking for in a candidate and sharp focus finding their guy.

His tweet tonight about some not liking the process is in reference to GMs of other teams, not the candidates themselves. Apparently they don't like not knowing if they are going to lose one of their assistants or not. Honestly though, I don't care one bit if Mike Lombardi is upset because he doesn't know for sure if Ray Farmer will be back or not. That is his problem, not the Dolphins or Farmer's problem.

Many of us want an owner that lives and breathes football. Ross ain't that and won't ever be. This is a side project for him and while Ross will fund it well, he needs to find good people to run this show. Problem is I don't think he is an organization guy. He's a deal broker.

The guy is no management guru. Seem's a little out of his depth with organization building really. I really do think he needs a CZAR (hate that word), He needs someone with ultimate authority over the organization in all aspects of it. This is pure speculation but I bet there is a lot of confusion about governance and authority in the football operations. There is a leadership vacuum - Ross is to busy to fill it so what's left. We get what we've seen the last few years.

What a joke. I love how people have defended Ross through this process. Anyone want to argue he is "being thorough" still?

I will say it again…the challenge was not getting people to interview for the gig, it was getting them to accept it.

I think Ross has two outs. One, he is waiting for someone that is involved in this week's games to interview and maybe take the job. Two, Brian Gaine could be a seamless fit when it is all said in done. However, I do not see him getting it.

Steve Ross has no idea what to do and it is sad.

I have said it a million times, Ross is an idiot when it comes to being an NFL owner.

Look, there is only one other team, Tampa Bay, currently looking for a GM. Have we had like 7 - 8 candidates in for initial interviews. This will probably be compressed to 2 or 3 for final interviews. This represents a promotion for every one of these candidates. And unless Tampa picks one, (but it sounds like they are interviewing different prospects), then the candidates are forced to wait - ie nobody is going anywhere. So if we just take a bit longer to make the final decision to have a bit more confidence in the person selected, what is the problem? We just spent a few more days.
I know that Hayden will be hyperventilating for the next 3 days and then start frothing at the mouth with convulsions from whoever is appointed. It will be the death of the Dolphins and he will turn his attention to sticking Dawn Aponte, Joe Philbin, Jonathan Martin, Stephen Ross and the new GM voodoo dolls with pins. Well perhaps I exaggerate (a little), J-Mart is more of an anaconda.
The reality is that we know relatively little about each of these candidates. We can surmise certain things but we don't know their football IQ, their aptitude for problem solving, their ability to work well with the other key leaders on the team, their negotiating skills, their blind spots, their leadership attributes, their fiscal responsibility and how well each can work with Stephen Ross, who just happens to have put up the $1.1 Billion to buy the team.
Just be patient folks.

Some of you need to get a grip. The GM will be selected when they are ready. Mangina and the guy from Seattle may still be in the picture with the other candidates.
If we have to wait another 2-3 weeks to get Seattles guy, I am all aboard.
As Spiketex pointed out, it is Tampa, Miami, or status quo.
Ross can make someone very wealthy with the stroke of a pen. Let this play out and just be entertained by the tweets and speculation.
This will get settled in due time.
