Lamar Gordon/Eagles talk

Not disagreeing with you. I'm only saying that the conditional trade might not hold up if he gets cut, once they realize he sucks.

It's cool, other than pointing out how close the final cut was and that it prob wouldn't figure into the trade details......I wasn't trying to disagree w/ u either.....looks like we are in agreement on Gordon's value.

I want to thank Rick Speilman for his committment to mediocrity! Without his moves we wouldn't be nearly as mediocre!

AJ FEELEY for a 2nd round pick
LAMAR GORDON for a 3rd round pick
OGUN for Mediocre Marty Booker

I don't know what his health status is but if I was the Eagles, I would sign Charlie Garner. He's a speedy back that has played for years in a WCO. They could get him for nothing.

he's washed up!

I think the Eagles have faith in Perry and Moats. If they were going to TRADE for a RB, they would have done it already.

If anything, they will sign someone who is cut for depth purposes. Philly isnt a team known for trading away draft picks...... I doubt we get higher than a conditional 6th from Philly.

I rather have Gordon on the roster for the first 4 games of the season than have the last pick in the NFL draft, which theres a good chance that it will be Philly's 7th rounder next year.

That would be the complete opposite of what they are looking for. They already have that kind of back in Westbrook and Moats (and even Mahe), they are looking to add a big physical back, which is not Garner.

Why not keep him for a few more weeks and give him a few more touches during the season while Ricky relaxes? It's not like we couldn't do much worse than a 6th rounder for our troubles.
Agree, no sense in being in a hurry to move him.

They mentioned a conditional pick. I'd take a 5th rounder w/ escalation to 3rd if he lights it up. Lamar actually looked really good last night in his few touches against Atlanta. He showed determination to get extra yards on each play. (Still think he could be a beast if he ever pulls it all together...)
Considering we are asking for a 6th and they are balking at that, do you think they would give a condition 5th that escalates? Maybe a 7th that would escalate to a 5th or maybe a 4th... That is probably our best bet.

Then I'd have to say keep him. There will be other teams in need of RB depth over the first four weeks and, like I said, we could give him some carries during that time to see if he looks any better than now.

It's not like we could lower his value much more than the low-end 6th rounder their bartering now.

Actually, I say keep him and don't give him many carries. Right now, he's a mystery and desperate teams tend to hope and imagine guys they are looking at are better than the evidence would suggest (ie, Feeley).Let's not ruin the surprise by playing him behind a currently sub-par line;his stock would only go down. Then when a key RB gets injured, he will be a commodity worth a higher pick (still couldn't get any higher than a 5th, IMO).

Prove it.
His time with a team that actually knew how to block. Just like with a certain QB.

They put him behind a line that might have been the worst OL performance in NFL history & you guys bash him for not be Ricky. Besides Lamar was not with Miami long before they tossed him into the fire with a certain QB I might add.

Lamar is worth more than a 7th. 5th at worst.

He is a # 4 or 5 RB on our team.

I disagree - in fact for the 1st 4 weeks he could actually be #2. Ronnie is #1, and then who - Morris? Gordon was a 3rd rd pick for a reason. We gave up a 3rd for a reason (I know RS and Wanny are morons) but the kid has talent. He is 6'1" 228 and in only his 4th year - you don't give up that talent for a 7th rd pick IMO. Screw Philly - let them be cheap and it will cost them. Westbrook is just okay but if he gets hurt they are in big trouble - let them gamble.

What rd was he drafted in?

3rd right?

What did we give up for him?

A 3rd right?

I'd say past history says he's worth a 3rd. However someone or something is only worth what the market will bear at that particular time so we will see. Supply and Demand - pretty basic. You overpay when the demand is higher and that is what happened to us ( along with having idiots running the show)!
