Lamar Miller- 5th in NFL rushing yard / 2nd in YPC

The talk of cutting him from people was asinine. He's young with some flaws, but people are way too hard on him here. He's a quality change of pace back that is showing he can be even a little more than that.

His drops on 3rd down reception opportunities were pretty brutal but I do like the way he's been running with the ball.

Satele was good against the corpse of Vince Wilfork (as hoops might say) and the Raiders DL. He struggled badly against the Bills and KC.

We need Pouncey back. Satele was good enough to help us get to 2-2, but we need Mike Pouncey in the worst possible way.

I never Saw Pouncey as a good run blocker. That's just judging by last year when teams seemed to know our snap count and Pouncey was 2 yards in our backfield with the second go. I really hope Pouncey get's his yr 1 and 2 form back, but I'm not counting on it. Yes he can pull and block downfield, but as far as holding his position or god forbid, creating a crease, that's never been his strong suit.

The good news is I really feel like there's potential there. I know Billy Turner still has some issues with his pass protection technique, but he brings such a great attitude, such strength, that I think they just have to try to find a way to get him in there. He straight up destroys people on running plays and when his pass blocking technique holds up, he's a rock. The guy is so strong, it's just night and day from Dallas Thomas.

Two rookies on the right side is scary. I would be more apt to give Turner a shot between Albert and Pouncey.

FWIW, last year DT caught 15 0f 16, with 1 drop vs Buff end of the year. In 2012, he caught 16 of 21 with 2 drops early in the year vs Houst and Jets. I would not call that brutal but, don't recall the drops in 2012.

If you watch where Tannehill has had success moving to avoid the rush, it's been to his left. He trusts Albert and Colledge, and those two guys work well together. I wouldn't touch that side of the line. Colledge may not be great, but he is a good piece on that line right now.

Hey I mean, I thought we should have cut Clay right before the start of his breakout year cause he couldn't catch a cold and never seemed like he'd put it together. I think Miller is a solid size/speed guy and the thing that made me like Miller is he produced when he was on the field. Did he have mental gaffees sure, but I can put up with the mental lapses if the guy is displaying projectable upside when the ball's in his hands. I always thought he ran a little harder than people gave him credit for, and he certainley is this year.

My mistake, thought we were talkin DT. Miller caught 12 of 15 this year, with 2 drops vs Buff which did hurt. Last year, he caught 26 of 30 with 1 drop vs Pitt.

I think with all young players you can't judge them until they have a full understand of what there doing on the field. I think miller is finally there.

We see it all the time with young guys, some learn quicker than others.

But one thing is for sure, They need reps and they need to be allowed to make there mistakes early.

Same thing with landry, people want to give up on him returning the ball. Gotta let him learn from his mistakes.

I've like Miller since he was on the team. Glad he is finally getting some props! He would have dont this last year out of the correct formations.

Moreno and Miller will be a good combo late in the year.

I've read where Lazor had them both on the field at the same time in camp. That would be an interesting option.

is this what happens when you get a professional OL coach?

It wasn't easily defensible in the Oakland game because the options were unkown. Now they are known. See what I'm saying? I doubt we see that play for a while, if at all. I doubt we pull a Sherman and run the same plays over and over. Lazor hasn't shown himself to be a play recycler.

Running the same play is dumb. Running a completely different play from the same formation is how you make hay. You should be able to predict how the defensive coordinator will adjust to the old play, and if you can accurately guess at what adjustment they'll try to make then you can design your new play to destroy that adjustment.
