Fighting the media, one lie at a time
Le Tard is griping about RB because he can't find anything else to put a negative spin on.

You could take a random person off the street and they would do a better job of covering sports than this idiot does. His stats are unimpressive. 57 yards on 22 carries with a ypc of 2.6 isn't very good, but considering he had to create his own holes all day and recovered a bad pitch for a 10 yard loss (taking that out gives him 67 yards on 21 carries and a 3.2 ypc) it wasn't such a bad debut. He also might want to take a look and see that his boyfriend Ricky Williams only had 40 yards in his first game and I think he turned out pretty well (well, talent-wise anyways) I really can't stand this guy though and really wish somehow we could rid this town of him.

Well first let me start by saying that Brown did look a tad slow, because until yesterdays game he had only 20 carries in preseason work. We all know that the preseason and regular season game speed are night and day. Furthermore, the Broncos came in with one game plan, and it has been the same game plan for the last 2 years: stop the run. The first play of the game was a hand-off to Ronnie and the Broncos totally jumped the gaps. Many teams this year will put 9 men in the box and see if we can pass on them, because we have been so terrible at it for 4 years. Even Ferotte stated (post game conf.) that you can not run successfully when you have that many guys in the box.
Furthermore, let's all be honest here, regarldess of our coaching the offensive lineman that we currently have will not be hear over the next 2-3 years. Saban has yet to get his players on the O-line. I do not think that it is fair to compare the Miami O-line with Tampa's O-line. In addition, it was this O-line that had a ton of false-starts and holding calls. A running back is as good as his Oline, and I am not sure that Ricky would have been successful yesterday. How many games did we see Ricky get blasted in the backfield.
Now, it is true Ronnie did too much dancing and spinning in the back field. All of which will be addressed by the Coaching staff, and most importantly Ronnie himself. What I like about Ronnie, is that he is a student of the game, as I right this I am confident he is studying film.
He will improve, as a player and as our o-line gets better players and plays better, things will get better.
bust? that ishht hasnt even crossed my min d.....he did well...not spectacular, but well..picked up the blitz great, ran tough..in the 2nd half..played hard once he got comfy...all in all looked like a rook but still showed madf promise, and maturity......impressed, but not overwhelmed with him...imo..Ruderic said:Its too early in the season to call Ronnie a bust.
Look at how many starrunning backs didn't do well yesterdy. Look at how many rookies have amazing first games. Give the guy until Ricky returns to pass judgement.
yep..got better as it went on...seemed comfy(again) in the 2nd half...looks like the jitters were gone..OurHeartAndSoul said:I personally thought he got better as the game went on.

I'm not saying he lit the world on fire. I'm not even saying he was good, but I don't think there is any reason to panic. The guy looked like a rookie playing in his first game with little to no room to run. He did dance a bit too much but that was only because he was trying to make a play because of a lack of running room. Lets give the kid a couple of weeks before we start jumping down his throat.ohall said:I don't agree with that at all. Ronnie had a bad 1st half, but he had a good 2nd half. The same holes were there in the 1st half but Ronnie was dancing way too much in the 1st half, and was hitting the hole hard in the 2nd half.
If Lebartard simply was not looking for a reaction from Miami fans listening to his radio show he would have mentioned Ronnie actually improved in just 1 half of Pro football. He chose to focus in on Ronnie's poor 1st half.
