LeBetard too critical of Ronnie Brown

He Started His 1st Nfl Game, He Will Learn That He Cannot Dance Around In The Back Field. Plus Denver Was Puting 8 In The Box. He Will Be Fine

Picked up the blitz real well - very good sign. Did not run very well - bad sign. Numbers remind me of Sammie Smith (~3ypc), unfortunately. Not a lot of room to run, but at some point the RB has to do something too. We'll know if a few weeks. I think we need to give him some time.

I agree that Ronnie did alot of small things well (ie picking up blitzes). He seemed a bit hesitant at times when approaching the line of srummage but it was his first game. As the offensive line progresses and he becomes more comfortable with the pace of the game and his role I think he'll put up big numbers.

Overall a good debut especially as the Broncos were committing men on the line of srummage.

I was listening to 790 AM (radio station tha covers phin football for those not from Miami area) and I was suprised to hear LeBetard saying Brown did not show anything.

Well first let me start by saying that Brown did look a tad slow, because until yesterdays game he had only 20 carries in preseason work. We all know that the preseason and regular season game speed are night and day. Furthermore, the Broncos came in with one game plan, and it has been the same game plan for the last 2 years: stop the run. The first play of the game was a hand-off to Ronnie and the Broncos totally jumped the gaps. Many teams this year will put 9 men in the box and see if we can pass on them, because we have been so terrible at it for 4 years. Even Ferotte stated (post game conf.) that you can not run successfully when you have that many guys in the box.

Furthermore, let's all be honest here, regarldess of our coaching the offensive lineman that we currently have will not be hear over the next 2-3 years. Saban has yet to get his players on the O-line. I do not think that it is fair to compare the Miami O-line with Tampa's O-line. In addition, it was this O-line that had a ton of false-starts and holding calls. A running back is as good as his Oline, and I am not sure that Ricky would have been successful yesterday. How many games did we see Ricky get blasted in the backfield.

Now, it is true Ronnie did too much dancing and spinning in the back field. All of which will be addressed by the Coaching staff, and most importantly Ronnie himself. What I like about Ronnie, is that he is a student of the game, as I right this I am confident he is studying film.

He will improve, as a player and as our o-line gets better players and plays better, things will get better.

Your best bet is to just turn the dial to 560 when Lebaturd is on. The guy is an idiot and a jerk. I can't remember a time when he's written or said anything of substance.

i've said it before and ill say it again..... lebatard is rickes @n@lflowing but monkey, and is a major tool

I don't agree with that at all. Ronnie had a bad 1st half, but he had a good 2nd half. QUOTE]

Bad first half?? Huh? Did he fumble?
Did he miss a blitz assignment?

That was one hell of a catch by him too.

I saw Bronco linebackers in the backfield on almost every run play then...so how is that RB's fault?

I think he played as good a game as he could. Glad he got the work. He is a bruiser.

The only thing that saves me from not listening to Le ******* on the way home from work is the fact that he gets good guests to call into the show. Other than that the guy is a fraud and a joke.
Oh, and his little guppy who hosts the show along with him is just as bad. Its like the guy is LeBatard's lapdog.

Brown made something out of nothing on practically all of his rushes. He was consistantly met at or behind the line but still managed to move us forward. Haven't seen that in a Miami RB in quite some time.
