Let me get this straight Mr. Saban.......

Mortaging the future instead of building for the future is what has gotten us in hte mess we're in now, especially at the QB position. We're basically securing a guy that won't cost us anything THIS YEAR, but could be a ST stud in the future. Who knows, but I would assume that the ones that do call the shot may know just a bit more than us.

On a second thing, it's none of business, but is or did that Broncos fan get banned? If so, did he do anything that bad to have got banned, or was he warned multiple times? Seems like he's said some tame things IMO.

In my opinion what we are seeing is the building of a team chemistry. Many analysts have credited the Patriots "team first" philosophy for their success. Saban learned this same philosophy. He has said repeatedly that some of the players are "not buying into the philosophy". These type of players are a cancer on the future success of the team. I am not saying that all of these cuts, or any of them fall into that category because I really do not know that. However, Saban was talking about someone when he said that and I expect ANY player that will not get on board will be dismissed. This may create what looks like questionable personell moves to us, but Saban knows!!

Building team chemistry by cutting the man his fellow O-lineman McIntosh referred to as "supposed to have gone to war with us." .............

Why would Saban make this move unless he was sure he knew what we was doing. Of course the man put some serious consideration into this move as well as every other move he's put in. People don't seem to realize how much of a terrible situation we would be in with Dave Wannstedt and Rick Spielman still in charge. Without Saban, we'd be in one of the worst 5 capi situations in the NFL most likely and he's done an unbelievable job turning this team around. John St. Clair was making $1,100,000 this season, other than Jeno James that is more than any of our current started and St. Clair can't even crack the starting lineup on our Offensive Line. I don't like the fact that releasing St. Clair is a big cap hit, but I think Saban know's what he's doing and I trust his judgement and decisions and am very confident about how he is shaping this team.

"Get a life", Why because i basically said the dolphins not good enough to beat us?

So in other words, you don't know what you're talking about.

In other words you don't know what you are talking about either since it is easy to see that you have nothing to add to the thread.
Don't come to the main board and try to talk smack. Take it to "The Depths" or be gone all together.

 It looked like it to me.

Wanny would've seen the play of St Clair, and said "oh you, you get better ok, or, well, um, I'll have to maybe raise my voice next time, and hope you play better."
I guess he wasn't up to snuff, so he needed to go, and maybe the person that will take his or A spot, will be a better contributor. Saban needs wolves not sheep ,as he says, and maybe St Clair was starting to baa.

Look, like everyone has said, we did NOT cut St. Clair to add Eckel. Thats the first issue. Next, St. Clair was obviously not going to play this year. He is not young. He doesnt have promise. So why keep him on here if he isnt going to play and he has no long term value? Not to mention saving money... Why not add a guy who was just drafted in Berger? A guy with some great value down the road, a guy who can take this season to learn from Houck and we can see what we have and if it is worth keeping him on to develop him as our future center or guard... Remember- Nick desperately wanted more picks this year. We have added a 4th rounder (Gibson) and now a 6th rounder (Berger)- so what does it tell you? Nick is trying to inject youth, something this team sorely lacked when he came aboard and something Wanny neglected to address. You have to trust NS and HH and SL (Scotty Linehan) to evaluate the guys, and if they think St. Clair has no value, then absolutely you get rid of him. He is dead weight, when we could be developing a young kid with some ability.

As for Eckel, I dont see why you dislike the move. Who did we drop to grab him.. Kris Richard. Well, he has already been replaced. I havent seen him live, but from what I hear from NE fans and Navy fans, he is a real tough runner with some great ability for a big guy. He could be a big piece of our team in the future, and we basically picked him up for a ST CB we no longer need? And you oppose this deal why? Its not like he was called to the navy and now we lose him and we gave up a player for him... we still own his rights and he will play for the Fins at one point. Nick is building a team to win now, but also to win for the future. It is the second part of the equation that you dont seem to understand. Sure a known name like Mario Edwards seems like a solution at dime back, but he was playing lousy football and Nick obviously feels a combo of Eddie Jackson and Kiwaukee Thomas can replace him and even more, make us a better football team in other ways (in this case, likely ST coverage). Look, its been a long offseason and we are just days away- dont lose faith now. NS has a plan and every move he makes is calculated, analyzed and intended. He has a reason for everything. Try and be patient, and see where he goes with it. IMO he will lead us in the future with moves just like these two- picking up low risk high reward guys for nothing.

What a foolish thread. Coach Saban knew that he was going to get called to duty and put him on the active roster as a matter of procedure then the reserve list, so when he comes back he is a propoerty of this team. It allowed us to get a propsect for the future at a position of no depth for basically nothing.

I agree

If I cant take the heat then get out of the kitchen. That was a good one. " Why because i basically said the dolphins not good enough to beat us?" You might want to drop an "are" after dolphins, and before not. Now try this one.
If you can't string together a sentence, then get off of the messageboard
