We cut St. Clair.........and we picked up that FB Eckel who we knew could possibly get called up for active duty, who as it turned out, did get called up.........

"Trust Nick" .....blah blah blah....... I'm sorry, I'm just not getting his personnel moves as of late.

I'm split with you on these two. The people on this board who have seen Eckel say he has been impressive. So if we are stashing him on military reserve its not such a bad move. Additionally I have heard that he may not need to serve the full two year term so we may have him back next year.

As for St Clair, its another head scratcher from Saban. How many injuries to the offensive line before we miss him. He had to have been the first or second option off the bench. Our secondary is thin and now are offensive line, never a strength, is getting thinner. If we get hit with injuries we are going to look back on last year's line as if it was hall of fame

Oh ya..........Eckel was SUCH a prospect lemme tell ya........we need depth now, not next year.

Well, considering that Saban is building for the FUTURE, I believe that we do need depth next year. Remember, Saban wasn't expecting (or expected) to turn things around THIS year.........or were you REALLY expecting that Super Bowl run THIS season?

I never said they had anything to do with each other........... I'm commenting on how the moves make no sense.

Read his damn press conference. He explains it all.!

Pretty much sums it up, right there. I think we should just forefit the season and move on! :goof:

Well actually we cut an average lineman to pickup what could be an excellent o-linemen in the future. He has the capability to develop into an outstanding linemen. Which is what Houck is known for doing. I like the fact that Coach Saban has a different approach than most. Think he just stole a player from another team that they wanted for their future. He will continue to make decisions to better this team for today, but more importantly for the future, as that is when we will be ready.

who's the HOT chick on the left column of FemaleFinFans post? Just curious.

Look at it this way. Saban is shaking up the Oline sooner rather than later. Im sure they have a plan. I never heard much out of St. clair and if you think about it, as a veteran on this Oline, if youre second string......what does that tell ya at this point? I question the timing of it not the actual move.

That would be AJ Feeley's second hand lover. Heather doesnt care much and actually enjoys the company.

Building team chemistry by cutting the man his fellow O-lineman McIntosh referred to as "supposed to have gone to war with us." .............

We cut a guy who couldn't find a starting spot on our horrible line to make room for Carolina's 6th round guard that they tried to stash on their practice squad. When you have a guy like Houck you throw him as many low round pick OL as you can and see what he can work with.
