We don't extend injury prone players like patterson.
Ireland extended injury prone Will Allen, and refused to resign Goodman after a career season in 08.

Love grimes, love his explosiveness.
But a underrated fact is, our entire secondary has been pretty damn good. Even Wilson and Carroll have really come along. Wilson in all honesty has been pretty greet.
I think ur Antonio brown stats are off, I don't believe he get rec yards for the lateral play I could be wrong

I agree with everything in your post except not sure that will work for Grimes, guess it would depend on the guaranteed money. They are going to probably have to tag Soliai based on what we have heard from Canter (which will irk Soliai like it did Starks this year). If Ireland thinks he can just plug the young DL in to replace Starks and Soliai that would be a huge miscalculation INO.I don't think Grimes commands that much cash. He's not a young pup nor has a flawless medical record.
I think Ireland gets a bit creative and front loads the contract. Pays Grimes heavily up front and low at the end. Maybe 4 year deal 25 mil.... 10 | 6 | 5 | 4
Even if I'm lowballing I don't think they let him walk. I'd prefer not to tag him and would rather use tag on Solia/Starks (I think Starks walks).
Also I can't remember all season of me singling out Grimes saying WTF was he doing out there? I have said it for Jones, Clemons, Carroll, Wilson a number of times but a whole hell of a lot less than I did for Vontae and Smith.
Hey - lets NOT talk about grimes - lets just re sign him to a muti million dollar contract for 5 years.. boom - job done!!
a 35 year old CB is kind of pushing it though. 3 year deal is what we should be looking to sign him @
He's good and I'd love to have him back, but guys like Julio Jones just absolutely crushed him (I know, there's probably only 10 guys in the whole league with that kind of size and speed and they crush everyone). I'm just saying, this depends on price. If there's a bigger CB who can cover even 90% as well I'd pay that guy slightly more than Grimes.
However, I do think Grimes will give Miami a fair shot to sign him for a slight 'hometown discount' (meaning, I don't think money will be the only factor unless the 'Phins give him a disrespectful offer). I do worry that Ireland would try and low-ball him. Ireland does seem to have a 'grass is greener on the other side' mentality when it comes to paying our own FAs, IMO.
I don't like that we tore up McKinnie's contract, as I think he was a steal at 2.7 million. This kind of stupidity also creates issues in the locker room as it makes our players feel disrespected and probably leads to less morale. Between Ireland dissing the value of our players, and Philbin's judgemental/condesdending (it seems that way) style, I worry our players feel like the 'redheaded stepchild' in the organizational hierarchy.
AJ10 guys in the league 6'4 220 with 4.3-4.4 kind of speed? Really? Can you name 5 of them please?
And Julio Jones did most of his work against Nolan Carrol that game.
Antonio Brown leads the league in receptions and 4th in the league in Yards total... 4 catches for 34 or 38 yards is what Grimes held him to.
