Malzahn

I am interested to see how Chip's offense works in a couple years. Might still be dominate but the
League may get used to it and slow it down.

If you look at Kelly's offense it's not revolutionary in what the plays are. They're the same routes every team runs. It does a few things to create advantages. Pre-snap motion creates gaps and read problems for the D, combined with the speed and it doesn't leave time for defensive custom lineups or situational blitzes, and it forces more errors so guys end up wide open for easy throws. Foles isn't threading the needle to guys. Motion creates gaps for McCoy to run through. Pretty basic ZBS though. There's not a good reason for it to fail unless D learns some sort of tip off or the offense fails assignments.

I don't see why an explanation is needed.

For a LONG time I have watched guys post in here about there are "college coaches" and there are "NFL coaches" and no one in here wants a "college coach".

Malzahn is 100,000% a COLLEGE coach, in mentality, in demeanor, in outlook... in every way imaginable.

He is a glorified HS coach. He is a coach of boys, and boys who are becoming men. He would not be able to win over $$$ driven mature NFL athletes.

If there was ever ANY college coach who was primed to become an NFL coach from past background, personality, etc., it would have been the guy who dumped us in 2007.

Every rumor coming out that Ross is sticking with Sherman/Philbin hurts. Last year people weren't sure if Chip Kelly / Gus Malzahn style offense would work in the NFL. Kelly takes over a 4-12 Eagles squad and by the 2nd half of his first year they are 7-1 averaging 33.25 pts/game. Why would we not bring in that same offense to Miami? I'm sure if you asked Kelly for his opinion of the best available coach he wouldn't hesitate for a minute in recommending Malzahn. Instead Ross is asking the opinion of guys that were involved with mediocre teams utilizing outdated philosophies that keep insisting we are "close". Of course they think we're close, idiots never know how much they still have left to learn.

Why would he leave Auburn, where he has a great future, for us???

Before we anoint Chip Kelly the next great offensive mind lets see how he does next year when DCs across the league have spent a summer figuring out how to stop his offense. Kaepernick didn't exactly look like the world beater he was last year.

an AMAZING football coach. took an Auburn team that won ZERO conference games all the way to the national championship.. not just a run based offense his offense is dictated by personnel... I know, a coach that actually puts his players in the best position to succeed?? Marshall is a cornerback playing QB so they rarely throw. Malzahn did have #3 passing offense at Tulsa and in his 2 years at Tulsa had the #1 offense both years. Mr. Ross, PLEASE HIRE GUS MALZAHN!
