I agree that half measures are useless, and if/when Ireland is booted out IMO the best course of action would be to allow the next GM to decide who he wants as his head coach - personally I don't care whether Philbin stays or not, but if you're hiring a new GM then he should be able to make the best decision since its his ass at the end of the day.

Ross will end up firing Ireland and promoting Brian Gaine. Philbin is staying but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Ross puts out feelers to Jon Gruden before officially naming Gaine GM- which would make for a hilarious Tony Sparano in 2011-esque situation all over again.

I'd put money on the Gaine/Philbin combo though. I hate the way Ross operates this team.
